I can't wait to hear this live. Great sound. Trying to find out who is opening for them. Having no luck.

Stumbled across this about Chevrolet Chevelle clones so maybe it's a doubt entendre of sorts :)

Just turned this on for a first listen.
Watch your stereo volume when you start up the first track, Ouija Board. Fully awake now!

Edit to add, I am loving every track so far. This is a fantastic album.

It's pretty great. I've listened to Chevelle before but just a few tracks, this album cemented that I like this band.

Listened to the album once so far, but I thought it was really good. Going to take a few more listens to decide what my favorites are, but Take Out The Gunman stood out.

Love the album. Only listened once so far, though. Waiting to pick it up this weekend.

Just got back from their show last night. AMAZING! I got there two hours before the door opened and ended up on the rail. My wife doesn't care for them that much, so I went by myself. It was cool though, I met two really cool people on the rail and we rocked out H-A-R-D. So hard in fact, Dean the bass player threw picks at two of us and came over to the edge of the stage to let me high-five his foot. He and Pete also made faces at me as I took pics with my digital camera. Great stuff. I stayed after for a while and got Dean's setlist too.

They are playing Hunter Eats Hunter, Take out the Gunman and An Island (my personal favorite from the album) on this cycle so far. I figure they'll add Jawbreaker eventually, it screams single to me.

Awesome! Every time I start to list favorites it's half the album. Or more!

Glad you had a good time man! Shame that your wife wouldn't go with you, but at least you had fun anyway!

I'd love to hear what An Island sounds like live, one of my fav's off the record. Also One Ocean would sound killer!

Their album debuted at #3 on Billboard Top 200, so that's a really good accomplishment, considering the radio friendly crap they were up against

Yeah. An Island is awesome live. Especially the middle riff part. All I remember was going into a full body sway on that song.

My favourite track off the new album.
It's so groovy and sums up everything I love about Chevelle.

Any of you know whether they're going to tour this summer/fall other than the few festival dates?

I imagine they will, but don't know for sure.

Also: how freakin' great is this album? I too sort of miss the highly melodic stuff they've been putting out over the last two or three albums, but I'm more than happy with blistering heaviness when the songwriting and performances are this strong.

Finally listened to their new album yesterday. I enjoyed it immensely...I'd say it's EASILY much much better than Hat's Off to the Bull, and probabably just as good if not better than Sci-Fi Crimes. Still not as good as Wonder What's Next, This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In), or Vena Sera, but it's definitely a rockin' album going in the right direction for the band, IMO.

Rocking out to La Gargola yet again in the car this evening. Just checked the Chevelle tour page, lots of dates, hoping I can finally see them.

Getting psyched to see Chevelle for the first time! Kyng and Dayshell are opening, don't know them well but I'll try to be there for them too.
