Great band. I felt that "come alive", "let it die", and "stranger things have happened" were a bit similar. But yeah, I'm glad the band has great dynamics in the recording process of their latest albums instead of being victims of the loudness wars.

Anyone been to foofighters.com lately? They've had a countdown on there for a little while and right now there's 1 day, 10 hours left. Wonder what's coming on Monday...

And just in case you need a good laugh today, here's a video from the show I went to in Denver earlier this year with Dave telling his broken leg story. Just another fun thing about their shows, Dave is basically doing stand up comedy between songs, and he's amazing at it :lol

Probably has something to do with this:

There's also speculation that a second season of SONIC HIGHWAYS may be in the cards for an announcement.

Nothing too special about it, just decently solid stuff. Really enjoyed the last two songs though, Iron Rooster and The Neverending Sigh. But hey, free stuff is free stuff, and when not being forced-fed it, it is all good.

The EP was a nice surprise, especially for free. I like it because it's unapologetically Foo Fighters for the most part unlike Sonic Highways. Saint Cecilia, Iron Rooster, and The Neverending Sigh are really good. Sean and Savior Breath are decent as well.

Of course they answer all the break up rumors in the most Foo Fighterest of ways...

The funny part is that I feel like the band played a part in creating the rumors just for the sole purpose of making this video. :lol

I almost lost it when they brought in Nick Lachey for tryouts lol

That was really stupid imo. I'm sure the band had something to do with it. Even if they didn't, really stupid. And not stupid in the "I was fooled and I'm upset about it" way... stupid in the "what a waste of everyone's fucking time" way.

Like, whatever joke they were going for made all of 0 sense. Was the "one finger" thing supposed to be funny? Because it was more awkward than anything else. Then, for a second, it got kind of real.

Very cringeworthy. They need new comedic writers, cuz the others must be on a fucking strike.

Haha! Nice catch! I was totally expecting his name to come up and I was surprised it didn't. Turns out I was wrong, though...

Being mentioned in a list with Vince Neil and Justin Bieber. Dunno if this is honorable. :D

I love the phony baloney song at the end. Solid video, I really like it. I had no idea about the breakup rumors either. (Not that I would've believed them, they're on top of their game right now)

All right, and what's wrong with that? I love Wheels. Probably one of the most meaningful song I have heard in my life. No other song gets me contemplating about life's decisions as much as Wheels, and I mean it (so people better not give me that "you need to listen to better music" crap). Times Like These is another enjoyable song, and Long Road To Ruin has a great singalong chorus.

They just know how to write good catchy mainstream songs. Nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, Foo Fighters definitely write some excellent songs. They're one of the more consistent good mainstream rock bands out there, IMO.

This reminds me, I downloaded that free EP off of their website a few months back and have yet to listen to it. I need to change that.

So what? In other posts you say that you love some pop more than some rock. Why is it a problem here?

I like to play devil's advocate.

Plus analyzing a song is a different topic than personal preference. I can like pop but still criticize my favorite songs.

I would argue that a ton of songs are catchy. Mainstream, not mainstream, unknown songs....
