NytestrykerZ wrote:It took too long for this thread to be made. Foos are some of the last American rock heroes out there. They're topping the charts, selling out arenas and stadiums, revered by pop fans, grunge fans, modern rock fans, hipsters, etc., recording on analog in the days of overproduced autotune protools flimflam and released their best album seventeen years after they started. Hats off to Dave & Co.
I want to frame this and hang it on my wall, it's so true. Love me some Foos. Their Back and Forth documentary is awesome.

Wow!! Looks like a great set!! Of course, pretty much any Foos set is gonna be fantastic!! It's great that they have tons and tons of hits, but they can still play some of the other cool songs live. I like how they do the In The Flesh? cover. The first time I heard that song was when they did it with Roger on Jimmy Fallon and the riff caught my attention immediately. I've been a big Floyd fan since.

Their Have A Cigar cover was great too!

Has anyone seen the show they did for VH1 Storytellers? I recorded it but they only showed like 5 or 6 songs and I've been trying to find the whole thing

I'm bumping this thread to say that Walk is a great song, and a song that helped me get me back on track of what I really want in life and do it well and right. So yeah, and I like the other tracks like Learn to Fly, My Hero, Everlong, etc. so yeah well done to these guys and their huge success.

Always kinda sad when these guys take a hiatus after an album cycle. Looks like someone else if going to have to step up to the plate for rock music.

Hmmmm, Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins going to induct Rush in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, ehhhh? Should be an awesome speech waiting in the wings. They did a great job inducting Queen back in 2001, even if Hawkins was high.

So four months only counts as a hiatus to them, ehhh?
So much for that Foo Fighters hiatus announced in October 2012! According to frontman Dave Grohl, work on a new Foo Fighters album is set to begin this week.

Dave Grohl may be the hardest working man in rock today, having just premiered his ‘Sound City’ documentary, rolling out shows with his Sound City Players supergroup and recording a track with Paul McCartney and the surviving members of Nirvana. And instead of taking a presumed long break from his main gig, Grohl is already at work on a new Foo Fighters album.

The Foo’s most recent album, ‘Wasting Light,’ was unleashed in 2011 to much acclaim, earning the band a handful of Grammy Awards. According to NME, Grohl has decided that it’s time to work on another effort. “I return to Los Angeles tomorrow to start work on a Foo Fighters record,” Grohl divulged on Feb. 19, only four months after announcing a Foo Fighters hiatus in 2012.

In an earlier NME news piece, Grohl spoke of his plans for Foo Fighters after the ‘Sound City’ engagements were finished, and the frontman has since stuck with those plans. “We have a plan,” begins Grohl. “We know exactly what’s coming next, and I have the music for the next record and we’re going to start working on it once we finish doing all this stuff … And we have really awesome, big plans for the next album and I’m really excited about it.”

Bumping this thread, to say that the writing for their next album is done and that Butch Vig is going to be the producer for them again and that it will be released next year. Should be another great album.
