The Hype Theory are another i saw at warped, female singer, sounds a bit like Hayley williams, they seem pretty cool though, my friend got to interview them for a radio station, seem really down to earth. Wicked band, nice people

Listening to some live The Pretty Reckless on YouTube and Taylor can really sing live. (How sad is the state of modern music that it's even a question, but yeah.)

Black Dub is a band to check out if anyone fancies doing so. The lead singer is a lady by the name of Trixie Whitley, daughter of the late Chris Whitley. They've only made one album, sadly, although they do have a follow up album in their sights. In the meantime, Trixie is doing the solo thing :) She's got a powerful voice on her.

Skin from Skunk Anansie is one of my favorites. They recently released an acoustic live record. Her voice is mesmerizing.

Here's a list of my favs other than Paramore.

VersaEmerge (changed to Versa)
Wicked Wisdom
Fiona Apple
No Doubt
Flyleaf (new album is really good)
The Letter Black
Evanescence
The Benjamin Gate

------------------

Halestorm
The Pretty Reckless
In This Moment

^I like some of their songs but now it's like they just want to make music about sex, booze, & satanic stuff lol so stupid.

Yep. I want to like Halestorm and Pretty Reckless but their lyrics make me cringe and change the radio every time. LOOK AT ME WHAT AN EVIL HOOKER BITCH WHO'S GOING TO STEAL YOU FROM YOUR GIRLFRIEND AND GO TO HELL AND BY THE WAY PLEASE BEAT ME UP WHILE I'M INTOXICTED WHEEEEE. Sigh.

Halestorm's lyrics are hit and miss. I really like songs like Break In, In Your Room, Familiar Taste of Poison, Beautiful With You...stuff like that. But they also have their fair share of cringeworthy stuff...I think Lzzy tends to write songs like she's writing in her diary, and sometimes that doesn't produce the most poetic result lol.

And I'm sure the radio plays the more cringeworthy stuff - well some of us are cringing but many love it I guess.

New instant favorite: Jasmine Cain - similar vocal characteristics (not sure what to call it, to my ear) to Cristina Scabbia. Some songs are a little more southern rock but lots of grungy stuff. Check out Frostbite.

I like her voice! And Frostbite is a killer tune so far. Sounds very promising. I hope I click with the rest of it. Thanks, Agny. I did like Frostbite but I could do without the southern/country rock elements.
