Some days need a song like this - L7 "Stuck Here Again". They've reunited and are touring. http://loudwire.com/l7-reunion-tour-north-america/

Star Anna and the Laughing Dogs - I saw them at Pearl Jam 20 at Alpine Valley...

Also The Balconies out of Canada. Saw them open up for another band at Summerfest in Milwaukee a couple years back. Totally love them.

My favorite song from The Balconies (the first one played - Beating Your Heart)

Haley is great. I love her version with Slash and Myles of Wild Horses.

Talking about Jack White, the Dead Weather is a great female fronted band as well. Really excited about their new record.

She has an awesome voice...heard Finally Free and Monster on the radio, and I've really enjoyed them.

Andy92 wrote:Halestorm's lyrics are hit and miss. I really like songs like Break In, In Your Room, Familiar Taste of Poison, Beautiful With You...stuff like that. But they also have their fair share of cringeworthy stuff...I think Lzzy tends to write songs like she's writing in her diary, and sometimes that doesn't produce the most poetic result lol.
Imo, if a guy writes cringeworthy lyrics it sounds worse than if a woman does.

---I'm more willing to accept cheezy lyrics from a female singer than a male one. (shrugs)

Just got introduced to this band last week while I was traveling home from Europe (Paris, oddly enough), and I'm already a BIG fan. Lynn Gunn has a tremendous voice, some people have compared her to Haley Williams. Definitely more of an EDM/synth-based sound, but they incorporate rock nicely. Shea, think of a more electronic VERIDIA with just as awesome vocals. Highly highly recommend this band.

For some of their rock side, check out:

And here's the title track of their debut album, one of their slower songs that really highlights Lynn's voice:

Some more songs to check out: You and I, Smoke, St. Patrick, and My House

Does anyone know this band? They basically spammed the link to their youtube channel in the comment section of the Blackbird Video AB just released. :D They seem pretty tight to me.

Noora Louhimo of Battle Beast has become my current favorite. She is just unbelievable and she's as good live as the recordings.

Another photobucket casualty... :(

I'm quite picky when it comes to female singers in rock bands. I generally don't like it when they have more of an operatic voice rather than a straightforward heavy voice. With that said, here are my current top 4 favorite female singers in bands.

1. Lzzy Hale - Halestorm
2. Moriah Formica - Plush
3. Cassandra Carson - Paralandra
4. Dany Villarreal - The Warning

Found someone who completes me...
I'm in love with somebody...
Oh yeah...
And it's Lzzy Hale!
