Mark's solo is so.... typical I must say. Signature Mark.

You'd think that he'd try a little harder on someone else's record... that solo was pathetic.
Re: Leslie West featuring Mark Tremonti
Pathetic is a little harsh, don't you think? Like you said, it's SOMEONE ELSE's record - maybe he just wanted to serve the song and not come in and try to over-shadow it with a bombastic solo.psycosquirrel789 wrote:You'd think that he'd try a little harder on someone else's record... that solo was pathetic.

Odd that he used a very similar pattern in the solo... Hmm. 2:59-3:04 around there.. Sound familiar? I like the song though.
Thanks Timo!

yep, same part from addicted to pain solo. he really didnt put to much into the solo. Like he had to do it on the spot or something. Thats where Myles is a class above Mark, when it comes to improvisation.austinjhnsn wrote:Odd that he used a very similar pattern in the solo... Hmm. 2:59-3:04 around there.. Sound familiar? Yeah, whenever Mark finds a pattern he really likes, he'll use it for an entire tour when he improvises or writes a solo.. Ex: the guitar duels during the ABIII all had some patterns that he repeated constantly.
Thanks Timo!

He gets it from his jazz roots from cosmic dust and citizen swing. Will wrote:yep, same part from addicted to pain solo. he really didnt put to much into the solo. I'm an unwavering Mark fan, but I agree that solo was obviously half-assed. Typical descending legato at the beginning, typical shred at the end, and obviously the same middle part as the ATP solo. Still so much better than I could play though... lol. I didn't mind the song either.
Does Mark do all the little filler leads throughout the song? Some of them sound like Mark; others don't.
