Sounds like it'll be a good song live...can't say I'm overly crazy about it though. The chorus is catchy, it's kind of like Monster as you said earlier.

It is an ok song, nothing too exciting to look at much. Though, I felt the same way about Monster and I still manage to like this band when Hero came out as a single.

They removed the song. Too late though... it's all over YouTube.

While I'm a HUGE Skillet fan and I love the way they integrated the piano into this song (similar to 3DG), I'm not really impressed with the song. It's too redundant and it just feels like its lacking something. Hopefully the album is a little different

I think this is just a normal, radio friendly song. I'm taking Jared's word the rest of the album is different. Either way, can't wait for it to come out. Need some new songs on my workout playlist

As a long time Skillet fan I am very disappointed. I guess I was expecting it as I couldn't stand the last album and this sounds even worse. A huge part of the problem is John's vocals are completely shot and he can really only manage to shout/scream out lyrics now and it's very grating after a while. He used to have such a versatile, multi-textured voice. Besides that though, even more disappointing is the songwriting quality and lyrical content. I get that they are trying to reach the young teen crowd and somehow be relevant (and their success as of the last couple albums shows that it somehow works) but there is no depth anymore and this single sounds terribly canned. I can't listen to the Awake album even though I've tried on a few occasions, and this single is cut from the same cloth. Ahhh I'm hoping there will be something to like on this new album! Still one of the best live acts I've seen though.

I think the band's posting a clip from another track sometime tomorrow. I remember reading that a few days ago on Facebook.

Not impressed with this one either, just sounds too generic

It is pretty decent. I enjoy the preview better than Sick of It, but yeah, it may be a tad generic.

Well, I personally thought about half of Awake was good and fresh, and the other half felt generic. I'm hoping RISE is better than Awake top to bottom, but I'm not really expecting to like this album more than Collide and Comatose. Hopefully they prove me wrong.

Decent ballad when you hear the entire thing. My main concern with the first two songs we've gotten is the sound of John's voice honestly. Does anyone else think his voice sounds kind of tired at times? Maybe it's just a different tone as he's gotten older, but it doesn't seem as powerful as it used to when he goes for big notes.

I agree, it is pretty decent. Better than Sick of It. Lyrics were a bit sappy at times, but very enjoyable to listen to.

I agree with Andy about his voice.. I was wondering about this before.
I wasn't really blown away by both songs, but I wasn't expecting to be blown away. I only like a few of their songs, and I think that will be the case on this album too :)
