They are great live. I don't care for his voice though. It's like a mix of Nickelback and Three Days Grace.
Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
@Andy I haven't talked to Seth about it in awhile. Pretty sure they're hitting the studio in the next few months. He's flying home tonight though... so I'll try to ask him when he gets home.
Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
Cool. It's been around 3 years since Awake? I'm ready for a new studio album. If I've seen a band 3 times in one album cycle, then you know they've been a touring machine haha.JaredWard wrote:@Andy I haven't talked to Seth about it in awhile. Yeah lol they've a great ride with Awake. I've heard some of the new demos though... they're really turning out great!
Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
I love this band. Last year I saw them for the first time, they came to CT for the first time ever and I saw them another 4 times after that. John's voice can be grating sometimes because of all of the rasp but they have so much energy and put on an amazing show.

Sounds sweet man. Can't wait to hear some stuff!JaredWard wrote:Yeah lol they've a great ride with Awake. I've heard some of the new demos though... they're really turning out great!

Just texted Seth... he said around August maybe.
Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
To start in the studio or when I'll hear music?

Seen them 4 times, tried to get an autograph every show, they never stay :'(
I like how John Cooper always talks about how many testimonies he hears after concerts, yet they always leave right after they play. At least, every time I've seen them. Love them regardless.

Yeah this has been my experience too. Jared ya need to pass the word along for them to lay off the VIP only meet and greets.ThravRande wrote:Seen them 4 times, tried to get an autograph every show, they never stay :'(

Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
Or just ask Seth for some autographs and mail them to me.

Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
I don't care that much for autographs to be honest. I just like chatting.

Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
I don't really care about it too much, it's just the fact that I've bought tickets 4 times and spent time after the show hoping to get autographs and haven't been able to. Frustrating.

Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
I don't think they had much say in it... that was the Winter Jam deal. I was lucky enough to travel with Seth & the crew for 3 shows. The rest of the band stayed on the bus with their family usually. Just to make it clear though... they're all very nice people & love talking to the fans when they have the time.
Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
Oh I know they're all really nice. I just know they've been hard to meet the 3 times I saw them. The first 2 were before Seth joined. Chu was the best one to come out after the gigs.

Yeah... I'll get their autographs eventually. It's a life goal of mine.

Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
I was a huge skillet fan a while ago. I'm really losing interest lately though. I didn't care for Awake too much and now Comatose doesn't seem nearly as good to me as it did back then. I still like a lot of stuff off of Collide though. I thought that album was pretty good. Reminds me a lot of Nirvana.
Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
Collide is my favorite followed by Comatose. Alien Youth was cool too, but I don't know if most modern Skillet fans would enjoy it. I don't think most people realize Awake was their 7th studio album lol. 9th album total if you count Ardent Worship and Comatose Comes Alive.
