The Official STONE SOUR Thread
Re: The Official STONE SOUR Thread
I completely agree. I didn't know they were releasing it as a single either. My favorite on the album is Peckinpah, but it's kind if dark in places for a radio single. Definitely think Black John would've been good, and '82 is another one with a great hook. Even Stalemate could have worked better than The Uncanny Valley. That's easily the worst song on the album.

Sadist, Stalemate, Black John, '82, The Conflagration & The House Of Gold & Bones would've made great singles.
Re: The Official STONE SOUR Thread
I think Sadist is too dark for a single personally. And with House of Gold And Bones being a reprise of Absolute Zero, which was already a single, it probably isn't a great choice either. I agree with the others though.

So if you guys only had money to buy part one or part two, which one would you opt for?

I'm going to need to give Part 1 another listen, but Part 2 is growing on me when I listened to it a 2nd time. I enjoyed Stalemate, Do Me a Favor, The House of Gold and Bones, '82, and The Conflagration from that album.

Probably Part 1. Part 2 is a much darker record, plus if you pay attention to the story it picks up right where 1 left off.AB4Lyfe wrote:So if you guys only had money to buy part one or part two, which one would you opt for?

HOGAB Part 1 is pure gold, simply put. It's the best Stone Sour record, imo. I love that record so much, it's one of my all time favorite albums. Part 2 is just as kickass in the league of its own.

Oh my goodness. Hmmmm. Don't know if this is true.

Isn't Jim Root an important figure for this band other than Corey Taylor?

Apparently it's been confirmed. Shitty news. Hope this doesn't also affect Slipknot.

Oh man, this sucks. Wonder whats going on? I hope Corey has nothing to do with any off the stuff, this and Joey leaving.
Thanks Timo!

The way I heard it. Jim Root is out of Stone Sour, but he is still going to work with Slipknot for their new album.

Last year I went to a show, and the entire band came out to sign CDs...except Jim. It's whatever I guess. He's a fine guitarist, but Josh Rand is just as good anyways. Makes you wonder what's going on behind the scenes with that whole bunch between Slipknot and Stone Sour though.

Re: The Official STONE SOUR Thread
So I'm listening to Audio Secrecy thinking it's going to be along the same vibe of the two House of Gold and Bones albums. There are some corny ballads here. I personally do not have any problems with these songs, but man, I did not think that Stone Sour does stuff like that.
Edit: All right, getting better with Nylon 6/6.

Re: The Official STONE SOUR Thread
Audio Secrecy was their more emotional album...a lot of ballad type stuff on that album. I don't mind it either, but that record put a lot of fans off. That's why they went in the direction they did with House of Gold & Bones.

Ahhh, I see. I do not mind the songs like Dying and Hesitate. I do really like Nylon 6/6, Miracles, The Bitter End, Imperfect, and Pieces.

Imperfect is one of my favorite songs they've ever done. I found it at a fitting time back a few years ago too. I think that's why it always stuck out to me.

Re: The Official STONE SOUR Thread
I'd like to hear Corey do a solo album with more acoustic based stuff like that. But now with Jim Root out of Stone Sour, it might be possible this band goes into more of that radio route. I'd rather that not happen though.
