I was indeed pretty skeptical to see if they pull off stuff like Crying Out, but I think it sounds good and I don't think I hear any trace of backing vocals or autotune or that kind of BS.

I'm a BIG Shinedown fan, since 2007. To be honest, since Jasin Todd left the band, Shinedown was never the same. I honestly don't like the way Zach Myers play guitar. He uses a lot of effects and doesn't seems genuine as Jasin was. :shrug

I liked the new single, but its definitely not the Shinedown we used to hear back there. So sad. :/

Let's see what they can show us in the next album. Hope it will be better than Amaryllis.

It sucks that he's used so much auto-tune/lip synced vocals. But he does it not because he needs to, but to preserve his voice - that's the key point. Now 10 years later, he can still belt out Crying Out. Its about preservation and not masking a lack of talent, which is justified in my eyes.

I feel the same way. I think his past history with substance abuse caused him to not take care of his voice in the way he needed to early on. But look at what happened to Stapp's voice...can't really blame Brent for doing what he needs to keep his voice going now.

There are other ways to preserve your voice. Cheating an audience is not one of them. Sacrificing your musical integrity isn't either.

I'm going to have to agree with this stance. You don't see Myles and Lzzy Hale try to pull things that Brent has been getting some flack for (the overly long speeches and miming effects or whatnot) just to preserve their voice, since well, they are exhibit A of knowing how long touring legs affects their voice in the long run.

The long speeches at least aren't faked. I'm okay with backing tracks as well, but the moment an artist starts lip syncing regularly, it's just awkward, especially with a band like Shinedown who used to be so raw.

Halestorm recently canceled around 5 shows at the end of a tour leg because Lzzy could feel her voice wasn't up to par. Yeah, she definitely takes care of her voice, but would you rather have tickets to a show that got canceled entirely?

I didn't really dig the new Shinedown track. I've been giving it try after try but not feeling it unfortunately.

All right, new album will be called Threat to Survival. Will be out on September 18. Here's the album cover.

I shall be cautiously optimistic about it, but sadly not as optimistic about it as Halestorm's last album, which I was cautiously optimistic about it as well, but they delivered enough in bits there. Hopefully Shinedown will do the same, or maybe surprise me in a good sense.

Looks kinda cheap. Let's hope that's a really LQ picture and that they didn't pull a DC3.

That cover is laughable.

The crack with the blood dripping out, above it there is two dots so it makes the crack looks like a smiley face.

Well, Shinedown and Breaking Benjamin are doing an arena tour in the states together. Good news, Andy. I think they are actually hitting Huntington, West Virginia (unlike that typo in the Loudwire AB tour announcement where it was actually Huntington, New York). Would be the kind of tour I wouldn't mind going to. Sadly, no SoCal show announced, ........ yet.

Here are the dates.

10/16 — Wichita, Kan. — Intrust Arena
10/18 — Lubbock, Texas — Lonestar Amphitheater
10/20 — Rio Rancho, N.M. — Santa Ana Star Center
10/21 — Phoenix, Ariz. — KUPD Festival @ Mesa Amphitheater
10/22 — Las Vegas, Nev. — The Joint
10/24 — Sacramento, Calif. — Monster Energy Aftershock 2015
10/26 — Everett, Wash. — Xfinity Center
10/27 — Kennewick, Wash. — Toyota Center
10/29 — Bozeman, Mont. — Brick Breedan Fieldhouse
10/30 — Salt Lake City, Utah — Maverick Center
10/31 — Broomfield, Colo. — 1st Bank Events Center
11/2 — Sioux Falls, S.D. — Denny Sanford Premier Center
11/4 — Cedar Rapids, Iowa — US Cellular Center
11/6 — Peoria, Ill. — Peoria Civic Center
11/7 — Youngstown, Ohio — Covelli Center
11/8 — Salem, Va. — Salem Center
11/10 — Knoxville, Tenn. — Knoxville Coliseum
11/11 — Huntsville, Ala. — Von Braun Center
11/13 — Nashville, Tenn. — Bridgestone Arena
11/14 — Little Rock, Ark. — Verizon Center
11/15 — Cape Girardeau, Mo. — Show Me Center
11/17 — Fayetteville, N.C. — Crown Center Coliseum
11/19 — Uncasville, Conn. — Mohegan Sun Arena
11/20 — St. College, Pa. — Bryce Jordan Center
11/21 — Huntington, W. Va. — Big Sandy Arena
11/23 — Albany, N.Y. — Time Union Center
11/24 — Portland, Maine — Cross Insurance Arena

New single went up a few minutes ago on iTunes / Apple Music - "Black Cadillac". I pretty much hate it.

Don't know why I even try any more with these guys. They're just not for me anymore.

^^ Hmmm, I'm going to have to concur. This single does nothing for me. So that's somewhat 0 for 2 in terms of singles for me for Threat to Survival. Not looking good in terms of me getting hyped for the album. At least, Amaryllis had a 4 for 5 in terms of singles for me (Bully still sucks, honestly).
