Re: The Official HALESTORM Thread
She may not be the hottest singer around but she is pretty and her talent and presence makes her more sexy to me. They are an energetic live band and that's what I want at a concert, not just someone who sounds exactly like the album.
Re: The Official HALESTORM Thread
I liked Halestorm before I knew what Lzzy looked like. But to me she's attractive. I like her because she's down to earth and, ya know, normal. Better than a lot of pop singers I can barely recognize without their costumes and makeup.

Ditto. In fact that's probably true of 99% of bands I listen to. I remember hearing "I Get Off" on the radio, and thinking, "wow, a female rock voice I actually like."Andy92 wrote:I liked Halestorm before I knew what Lzzy looked like.

Re: it'd be minus 2 though if it were a bass
+1. It just took me forever to start listening to them.abw1987 wrote:Ditto. In fact that's probably true of 99% of bands I listen to. although the looks don't hurt much:
the guitar adds another point of hotness to be fair

Re: The Official HALESTORM Thread
Honestly, I didn't know a thing about them before the first time I saw them as an opener. Had no idea they had a female singer, and when she started the acapella thing, and first came out, with the lights down and everything, in the first moment I wasn't sure if she was actually a she or if it was a dude with a total Steven Tyler thing going on. Once I realized she was wearing a dress, I knew. But the voice, the acapella opening, caught me long before I realized she was such a fox.

Unfortunately these days even that's not always a sure thingTenaciousBe wrote: Once I realized she was wearing a dress, I knew.

Lzzy Hale at the moment she received the news that "Love Bites" was nominated for a Grammy:

Re: The Official HALESTORM Thread
Why does every band with a female singer always end up being a wank fest? This is the reason those type of bands always break up, the female lead always gets all the attention.
Re: The Official HALESTORM Thread
Arejay Hale is getting a pretty good name in the rock community as a drummer too. He's one of my top 5 favorites. Sure, he doesn't get as much attention as Lzzy, but few drummers do get more attention than the lead singer in a rock band, male or female fronted.

Hmmmm, I have always relied on Jericho to give me some info on current rock music events and this should be very noticeable. If it's true, then, well done to them. They are really moving on up now.

Her great voice is shadowed by her lack of taste. The lyrics are worse than Nickelback's worst.

They did win for best Hard Rock/Metal performance with Love Bites. Cool for them.anguyen92 wrote:Hmmmm, I have always relied on Jericho to give me some info on current rock music events and this should be very noticeable. If it's true, then, well done to them. They are really moving on up now.

Absolutely! Love those guys, SO proud of them for their big win yesterday!gbruin wrote:Congrats to Halestorm! Great band & greater people!!
But I keep hearing this about their lyrics. Can someone clue me in as to what's so bad about them? Specific examples? Cause I love them to pieces, and I haven't heard a thing from them, lyrically, that sounded cheesy or out of place. If you just don't like sexual lyrics in general (which is only a fraction of their catalog), then that's on you.
