PAPA ROACH

Re: PAPA ROACH
I used to be a huge fan a few years ago, but I kinda grew out of them. I still love their first few albums. I was giving Infest a listen a few night ago for the first time in ages. Such an incredible album.. I can't really connect with their newer stuff though.

Ironic you say that when their new album is called The Connection. Which I think is an incredible work of rock n roll. Sometimes with bands that have been around that long; there's a shit load of filler songs in comparison to a few decent tracks on a new record. The Connection is genuinely a fantastic heavy rock album.. The Deluxe Edition furthers it's brilliance!Timotheus wrote:I used to be a huge fan a few years ago, but I kinda grew out of them. And the best thing about the band is their health and performance level has raised ALOT recently! To see Papa Roach now on stage is a wonder, Jacoby is by far one of the best front men in the scene and the whole tone of the band is huge for a 4 piece! I love them, they've got better and better since the start.. Anyone who stopped listening to them is missing out big time

Haha, that was not intentional I gave the new record a listen.. It's not like I stopped caring about them. I just don't feel it.Jim wrote:Ironic you say that when their new album is called The Connection.
Jacoby has always been a great frontman btw! Love his voice too!

I may try and listen to them. Of the few radio songs I have heard, the only one that I said "wow that sounds great" to is Lifeline. That and it seems like there was something off the last album that sounded cool. Forever, maybe?

Re: PAPA ROACH
Ok, so it had been a few months and I had totally forgotten about giving P Roach a listen. Then I was flipping through AXS the other day, and they were on guitar sessions. I was impressed with them. And I normally don't like this kind of music.
So this morning I checked out Connection. Some great song on there. I love Scars, Leader of the Broken Hearts and Lifeline. I may look into them more. And if they ever hit a town within two hours of me, I might just go.

Re: PAPA ROACH
Somehow I kind off forgot about this band in the last couple of years...
It is so nostalgic to think about them. Their 'Last Resort' is the reason I got into this music genre... I think I was 10/11 years old and my brother was supposed to drive me to my violin lesson and on the road he decided to give me his own lesson in terms of music taste
By the time we were on our way home, I was singing along using imaginary words since I didn't understand/speak english; now that think about it, this should have been annoying as hell to him but apparently my brother enjoyed manipulating my music taste too much to be bothered by my own interpretation of the lyrics.
Dear brother of mine, thank you for manipulating me

I've been listening to Lifeline, a lot recently. It's a pretty good song with a deep message.
