Re: The Official LINKIN PARK Thread
I'm not sure how I feel about it.. I've listened to it a few times already since it came out and though I think it's the best thing they've brought out since Minutes to Midnight, something feels off about it.. Definitely a step into the right direction though!

I can't be the only person really annoyed by that opening riff.
It's alright. I'm glad that going back in the rock direction is making people happy, but it's not worth it if they can't deliver in the songwriting department. Still, I'm looking forward to the album.

This one is so much better than anything since Meteora!
Now it really got me thinking whether to see them in June or not.

I'm still not sure if I like it.. It sounds forced and Chester sounds weird in the mix.. Which is a shame, because Chester is the part about LP I like the most.

Forced? That's not how I feel about it, it sounds kind of like a jam session.

I don't know how to describe it.. It sounds angry but it doesn't really feel angry to me.
Still a decent track though. I'm actually kinda looking forward to listening to the entire album now.

Re: The Official LINKIN PARK Thread
The only thing I like about is that they're actually playing guitars and drums after what... three albums?
Re: The Official LINKIN PARK Thread
I'm so confused. Guilty All the Same is a great track, why not have Mike do the rapping part if they're going back to their roots?
You should never come this way
To test the hands of fate
You don't belong here
Re: The Official LINKIN PARK Thread
It's not a "back to your roots" thing. They set out to be aggressive, but with certain twists and turns. Mike could have easily come up with a rap for that section, but they wanted to do in a different direction.

Mike never could've never written something like that. The rap section is easily my favourite part of the song.

It's a killer section, had no idea Rakim was part of the Wu-Tang Clan until this song, now it all makes sense.

Not the biggest fan of the song, but it is decent. I'm happy to hear they're finally using guitars that are prominent in the mix again.

Re: The Official LINKIN PARK Thread
I like it. It kinda sounds like a mix between Meteora and Living Things.. The lyrics are a bit repetive, but there's not really a chorus so they have to lay the hook somewhere else. It's one of the few songs since Minutes to Midnight I really like from the first listen.

Re: The Official LINKIN PARK Thread
Agree with both of these statements. It felt like they tried to create a 2014 version of numb almost. The one thing that irks me about this song is the repetitive lyrics.Timotheus wrote:It kinda sounds like a mix between Meteora and Living Things.. The lyrics are a bit repetive.

Re: The Official LINKIN PARK Thread
Lyrically it's such a weird song.. Some parts are really strong like the "cause finding what you got sometimes
means finding it alone" line, but then there are the repetive parts which are so cliche..
I love the main riff though. I don't think they've done a 6/4 time signature before..
