Recent Q/A on his Ask Dammit page re: Velvet Revolver and Ian Thornley:

3. i read an interview/article during the early velvet revolver days that you had composed three songs for the audition but ended up giving one to ian thornley (i may be remembering that wrong). do you know if he ever used it? (also, huge big wreck fan and i bother myles all the time that you guys should tour with them. Hey Todd...)

A: That's not quite correct. Both Ian and I threw our hat in the ring when VR were looking for singers.
I never gave Ian any songs. He needs none of mine. The man is an uber talent all on his own.
You're right the Conspirators and Big Wreck would be a rad tour.

Yes please to Slash + Big Wreck tour!! Listened to another Ian interview recently where he talked about not really being the frontman type needed for VR.
