Songs you can't bring yourself to listen to anymore?

Post by Addicted To Pain »

I'm wondering if anyone on here has songs that they just can't listen to anymore for whatever reason. You don't have to explain if you don't feel comfortable.

Here are mine. Mostly for emotional reasons.

Pop Evil - Goodbye My Friend
Pop Evil - Welcome To Reality
Godsmack - Someday
Anything by Muse and The Avatars, ESPECIALLY Undisclosed Desires by Muse.
Incubus - Echo
Papa Roach - Forever
Skillet - Monster
The Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
Dorothy - Flawless
4 Non Blondes - What's Up
Anything by Little Big Town.
Kevin & Greg!! - Big Stars
We are the left behind...
Forgotten and undefined...
Love us or hate us, you'll never break us, stand at the end of the line...
We are the left behind, and won't be left behind!

I definitely agree with 'Iris'. Actually, most Goo Goo Dolls music I can't listen to anymore.

The only other song that comes to mind is Wonderwall by Oasis. Just from being overplayed.

In Loving Memory by Alter Bridge

It's a BEAUTIFUL song and it hit home for me in a different way.

The lyrics in that song. Just "Hit Home" for me. So when they play it live, My Heart Breaks every single time.

I love AB! FOREVER. :cheers

Well, in the meantime, I willingly listened to the first three songs from this list and was fine with them. On the other hand, I now have a ton more songs that I cannot listen to anymore for emotional reasons.

Superman Tonight - Bon Jovi
Anything by Catch Your Breath
Anything by The Offspring except The Kids Aren't Alright, and even that one is questionable
Anything by Rise Against except Re-Education (Through Labor)
Anything by Beartooth
Anything by Nickelback
Hold Me Like A Grudge - Fall Out Boy
Anything by Hardy
Anything by Bring Me The Horizon
Broken - Seether
Mr. Brightside - The Killers (This is the worst one for me.)
Somebody Told Me - The Killers
Adrenaline - Shinedown
Punching Bag - Set It Off
Wolf In Sheep's Clothing - Set It Off
Pink Rover - Scene Queen
Becky's So Hot - Fletcher
Porn Star Dancing - My Darkest Days
Crazy Rap (Colt 45 & 2 Zig Zags) - Afroman
Paralyzer - Finger Eleven
Kryptonite - 3 Doors Down
My original song Feeling These Feelings
We are the left behind...
Forgotten and undefined...
Love us or hate us, you'll never break us, stand at the end of the line...

Damn, both of you guys put Goo Goo Dolls. I wonder what the story is behind that.

Kiss by Korn was EXTREMELY painful at one point because it was basically the theme for my first relationship. It was an extremely dysfunctional one and Kiss encapsulated it. So much so that I not only stopped listening to that song but Korn as a band for like a year. I wanted to listen to more positive music and sought out new bands which is how I discovered Stone Temple Pilots and Creed. I love Korn and that song sound beautiful today but at one point in time I had to ban it before it destroyed me.

Last Kiss by Pearl Jam used to be a really hard one too for the same situation but now I just laugh at it. Lol I was such a lame teenager.

Anything by Staind. Aaron Lewis just turned out to be such an arrogant, pompous douchebag that it ruined the whole band for me and I can't separate his turdery from the art. Which sucks, cause I absolutely loved their first couple albums. I used to do Outside in my acoustic repertoire, but I ended up retiring it - partly cause of him and partly because it was just such a depressing song that it was hard to do live in a bar/coffee shop setting without killing my mood.
