You become convinced that this is the only beneficial thing you can do for them.
Youre right.

I really miss Chester. I love Hybrid Theory and Meteora. There's good stuff on the other albums too but those first two albums are some of the best music in rock.

I wish he had a bigger output in STP. At least one solid Core/No.4esque record to really let loose. I also wish that Mark Morton song Cross Off grew into a full album. By the time of his death he was being severely wasted in Linkin Park. Mike Shinoda wanted to be a pop star

Now with Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara on vocals and Rob Bourdon absent on drums. I like the new song a lot. From Zero dropping this November.

Great choice. The new song is good as well. I like that it's more on the rock-side unlike the latest Linkin Park albums which were very pop driven.

Good luck to her! I saw some videos of her performing some older songs live, and think she did pretty good. I wasn't blown away by the new song, but didn't dislike it either. Thought she blended well with Mike. Looking forward to the album.

I find it hard seeing somebody else taking Chester's spot. I still miss him a lot, but it's been 7 seven years. It's a new incarnation of the band, and I wish them the best. They deserve it.

New song rocks! Happy to see LP continue and honor Chester while carving a new path.

Don't be so critical so soon. Emily recently released a statement condemning Danny Masterson for his crimes, and it seems like the lyrics of The Emptiness Machine reference her leaving the Church Of Scientology. She just hasn't made a public statement about that because that cult is known to harm and even kill their former members if they make statements about leaving.

The song is the best thing Linkin Park has done since 2012. As for the Scientology thing, she was raised into it. Its a messed up cult but so is Mormonism and Jehova's Witness. If she hasn't openly condemned scientology its probably because she's scared of the repercussions she'll inevitably get. I know people are pissed but its not enough to get me to disown Linkin Park. Hell, my favorite director has made some heavy anti-semitic statements before. Short of being a literal criminal, I can separate the art from the artist pretty well.

Ironically One More Light was harder for me to get passed than this. Lol

I'm loving Emily's addition to the band! Though it still reminds me of losing Chester, and that's still painful. Him, Cornell, Layne, Kurt, it's just so hard to fathom being in such a position and feeling like ending your life is the best thing you can do. Goddamn, I hate depression.

But, I'm trying to put that aside and enjoy the new evolution, and thus far, I am! I haven't actually listened to the new song a whole lot, I like to not wear out the lead singles before the full album is out (I've done the same with Mark and Myles' new songs too).

And...we have tour dates for 2025! I will consider going to either Chicago or Milwaukee. Honestly, I am surprised that the venues are arenas and not stadiums, as I am pretty sure that the demand to see them live will be overwhelmingly high.
