Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
Skillet was the best. Gasoline is one of my favorite Skillet songs, along with Promise Blender. Not to mention the incredibly original album art.

They're in the studio working on the new album right now. Couple pics from Twitter:

Weeeeeee, new Skillet stuff, yay! Ok, I might be in the minority, but I love Comatose and Awake, but that's just because I discovered them, through the WWE back in late 2009, with Monster and Hero, like I have with most bands.

Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
Have you listened to Collide? I always loved that record. It and Comatose are my two favorite albums with Awake coming in 3rd. You can't really compare the band from Collide onward with any of their original albums imo because the band changed its sound so much. I really like Alien Youth and Invincible, but they just sound a lot different than what the band is doing now.
But anyways, I'm really excited to hear some new stuff. Been over 3 years since Awake came out!

Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
Seth's been sending me pics & vids from the studio from what I heard Jen was using more double bass & he said she used an old Gretsch kit with a Black Beauty snare which sounded killer. I'll report back if I hear anything else
PS: Guitars start today.

If I don't get autographs next tour, I'm going to cry.

Awesome Jared, thanks for keeping us up to date! Can't wait to hear what the record sounds like when it all comes together.

Great band! Although I was a little let down by Awake, but clearly it was a step in the mainstream direction, so its understandable why. Not only do these guys make great music but I love what they stand for, they're as good as it gets!
Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
No problem he said he's used a Marshall, Wizard, & the LP Junior so far. I'm sure they'll dive into several amps and guitars throughout the album... he said everything is sounding HUGE.

Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
My wife is really into Christian music. I really liked them back in the Invincible/Alien Youth days. Angels Fall Down is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Saw them play for an hour or so at a Christian youth conference in KC back in 2002, back when they were still full on techno-rock. Good band.
I haven't heard any of their new stuff in a few years. I need to.

Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
Already looking forward to hearing samples. Got a feeling it'll be as good as it predecessor.
Also means a new tour, and I always go to at least 1 show when they tour, if not more. I think I saw them 3 times last year.

I saw them 3 times during all the Awake tours. They play a crazy amount of shows.

Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
I know! They kept coming back here. The came to Birmingham, Huntsville, and Cullman last year. And it wasn't in the same month or anything, they just came back throughout the year, it was cool. And I'd always go see them if they were anywhere in the state.
Still haven't got my autographs, though...

Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
Seth said he had one more song to do... so I'm guessing they'll wrap up guitars today. I've heard at least 3 of the tunes & I think Skillet fans are going to be very pleased
Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
Sounds awesome Jared. Think we could get a single around the first of the new year?

Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
^Yep! He said they were talking December but it might be moved up to January. I wish I could share more details but I'm sworn to secrecy lol a lot of awesome stuff coming.
Re: The Official SKILLET Thread
Ah cool, I was figuring January, but if they're able to get something out in December I'll be more than happy haha.
