I normally work at least 50 hours a week (5 ten hour days). I build large electrical units. Anytime a huge disaster like hurricanes or tornadoes hit, I end up working 60+ (Hurricane Sandy was great for my bank account, but shit for my family life) hours a week. Summer is usually our busiest part of the schedule.

But this summer has been great. I've had like the last 5 fridays off, working a normal 40 hrs a week. Getting fishing time in with my son. Getting more guitar time in (have actually gotten pretty far into learning pentatonic scale this summer). It's been a better summer than most.

Just locally. We have a theater 90 minutes away that shows a classic movie every weekend. Saw The Road Warrior and First Blood there earlier this year.

My two best friends got married this weekend! I was the best man at their wedding, originally told him that he needed to go after her, and he did. One of the best, most emotional days of my life. Could not be more proud of them.

Oh yeah it was fantastic! AND I found out this weekend that another one of my best friends is going to propose this December when he gets leave from the Navy, so I'll get to be a best man again!
