^ Completely the other way around for me..

Saw it for the second time tonight. I definitely enjoyed it more this time. The emotional scenes hit me more.

They hit me pretty well the first time. Guess it could have more impact when you don't know what happens.

Yea, I can't really explain why it hit me more this time.. Maybe yesterday I was too distracted because it was different than I expected or something.

I was really teary-eyed during the movie for the first time, too, despite the fact I didn't like it overall.

It was alright. Some of the fight scenes went on for so long I was beginning to lose interest. Decent movie. I'll still take Guardians, The Equalizer and X-men over it for best films I saw this year.

I'm sure you've all heard about this by now.

Thoughts? My expectations aren't too high, but I'm still really intrigued.

I had seen it announced, and I'll at least plan on checking it out since I'm an Amazon Prime user. Prime's video selection is pretty second rate, so hopefully they'll put a lot of effort into this one in an attempt to draw more subscribers.

My excitement for the show really depends on what they're planning to cover. If they're just doing a tv series of the events in the LOTR trilogy, then I'm not too excited because the movies already covered that very, very well. If they do some brand new storylines set in Middle Earth, that might be kind of cool. My pipe dream would be to see them use a lot of material from The Silmarillion.

Would be very interested if del Toro got involved. I was really looking forward to his take on the Hobbit, then Jackson took over and tried to do LOTR again.
For all of the hope that it brings...

If it's a pre-Fellowship and a post-Hobbit story, I'm slightly worried, because there simply isn't that much original material they can fall back on. If it's something from The Silmarillion, I'd be extremely excited.

And yea.. Peter Jackson, as much as I love him and the original trilogy, should stay away from this.

That's the timeline the current video games like Shadow of Mordor went with. The storylines are made up of things that didn't really happen, but the games are fun enough anyways. But I wouldn't like that setting as much for a tv show. As you said, just not enough material to pull from in that time.

I'd be excited for the Numenor storyline (and everything else that went on during that time).

If it's just another loosely-based-on-canon fabrication similar to the Shadow of Mordor games, then yeah... count me out.
