Letters From the Fire - "Mother Misery"
Saw on facebook that Tim T liked the page, description said "for fans of Flyleaf, Halestorm" (etc..) so I decided to watch the lyric video attached. Really digging the vocals, will definitely check out their new album out September 9th

Like the vocals! That song also had a decent guitar solo in it too. I will keep an eye out for these guys as well.AHart96 wrote:Letters From the Fire - "Mother Misery"

Re: What are you listening to right now?
The second part of this song (starts around 2:00) is still so ridiculously mind-blowing. After all these listens I'm still in awe every time I listen to it. It just keeps building to the point where it's so bombastic that you think they can't top it anymore and then they drop this "In truth, in life, in death, in light, in dark, I will be with you" line and it just completely opens up musically.

Lindsey Stirling featuring Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness - Something Wild
So I hear word about that Lindsey Stirling is going to release a new album, next week. I enjoyed Shatter Me, a good amount, even though that instrumental violin/dubstep/EDM hybrid stuff was not really something I'd listen to often. Interesting to read that she actually has 8 songs that's going to have vocals. I did quite enjoyed the songs that had vocals and lyrics the most in her last album (not that hard to enjoy when you got Lzzy Hale being a guest vocalist).
I checked out Something Wild. I quite like it. It's quite different from what I heard in Shatter Me. It sounds like one of those poppier (in a good sense) songs you would hear in a Disney film. It has that feeling where you feel the vibe of the innocence of a child (especially when you check out the music video for it). I also hear that this song was used for an upcoming Disney movie, so that should connect well with that audience.

Been listening to Time Stands Still - Blind Guardian lately, and a lot of Volbeat.
Saw both at Heavy Montreal last weekend. Wasn't super into Blind Guardian but I did really like that one song. And I knew a bit of Volbeat before, but they were so good live, I had to dig into their music a bit more.

^ Time Stands Still is badass. It's about Fingolfin from Tolkien's Silmarillion.

Yeah I read that the album is a concept album in that vein. I'm definitely going to give the rest of the album a listen when I get a chance. The chorus in Time Stands Still is just so damn catchyTimotheus wrote:^ Time Stands Still is badass. It's about Fingolfin from Tolkien's Silmarillion.

I keep forgetting how awesome that whole record is. Myles on the rhythm guitar really made a difference, IMO. And it has lots of great vocals from him as well, IMO. Although I remember a lot of people saying his voice wasn't that great on this record so I'm probably in the minority.Timotheus wrote:Slash - Far and Away

Really into the Andertons music videos on YouTube. Some of there jam sessions sound really good. Just watched the one on Veratos guitars,. Really digging the sound of them. Thinking of picking up a Cap 10 Chappers guitar, they are very affordable.

Been running to Sevendust lately. They are touring near me within days of my AB show. Can only take off work for one. Almost chose Sevendust, as my fandom for them predates AB. But I couldn't do it.
Been listening to the last 3 to 4 albums on some LONG runs.

Still been on a Lindsey Stirling buzz. Going through the videos from her Youtube channel, now hearing a cover of Echosmith's Bright with the vocalist of Echosmith singing as well.
