Which next gen console will you buy?

No release dates yet unfortunately but I'm just curious. Which one do you think you'll be buying? I'm still on team Sony... but I'm really waiting to see what Microsoft comes up with. Also I'm not sure if this has been posted or not but there is a new console coming out called "Ouya" which is open source and totally different than anything Sony, Microsoft & Nintendo are offering. I'm really interested to see where they take it. Here are some links...

Probably gonna stick with Microsoft, but that Ouya really intrigues me. Sounds like it won't be too expensive either so I might check it out. Haven't used Sony since the PS2, and I've about lost hope on Nintendo all together. Their new direction just doesn't interest me.

I'm excited for the Wii-U, but you just made me aware of the Ouya. Did a little digging, and now I'm beyond ecstatic for it! If they can keep the price point under $99 like they say, it'll be an insta-buy for me.

I'll be going for the Microsoft console. And I'm too lazy to watch that video, can someone explain what this ouya or whatever is? Who makes it? Only way I'll get the Sony console is if Final Fantasy becomes Sony exclusive again, but I doubt that. Microsoft simply gets better games than Sony.

^Macca, the Ouya is basically a system where all the games are freeware based. Kind of like Linux is to operating systems. Buy the Ouya for $99 (current estimated price), and all the games are free.

I think that's how it is. Read about it a few weeks ago.

They're f2p in the same vain that League of Legends is f2p. They require all of their creators to make some portion of their game free, but give them the option to have things like Cash Shops.

Final Fantasy III with updated graphics will be a launch title for the Ouya as well.

Yeah... the games are "free to try" lol which is still awesome. Of course I'm sure some independent companies will offer their games free but not all of them will be. Their only set back will be in the graphics department but it's still a pretty powerful console.

gotta stick with xbox. the games are simply better than playstation, and the graphics are as well. ill still be gettin the wii u though because i love zelda

^ I don't agree with the graphics thing. It just depends on the studio making the game. Most times the 360 has better graphics because the platform most multi-platform games are developed on is 360, then they are just ported to the PS3. When games are initially developed on PS3 and then ported to 360 (LA Noire, FF13, FF13-2) then the PS3 version looks better.

PS3 can actually prove that they have better graphics, as their hardware is better than 360's. Now, whether they have games that fully utilize this is a different story...

Upgrade my PC a tad, then buy a cheap PS3 to finally catch up on all the non PC titles (better late than never, Red Dead Redemption).

I won't get any on launch, I'll probably get a PS4 first, then a WiiU once it gets a significant price drop.
Then I'll probably get a 360, for Fable, Gears, and Halo.

I guess I'm just too cheap. My wife made me buy our kids a Wii. Thank God for gamestop, because I just can't see spending 50 bucks on a game. I'm still playing my PS2 for crying out loud. Spending 300+ on a console and 50 for a game is just beyond me.

I usually buy used games, unless they need activation codes to play online. I think I've only ever bought 1 PS3 on launch, and that was Twisted metal. Traded it in a few months ago for Crysis 2 and Dead island

Yeah games are really expensive, I only pay full price if it's a game I really want and don't want to wait for a price drop. Usually a couple of months after release Amazon sells them pretty cheap.

Huge Nintendo fan so I'll get a Wii U at some point. The Wii U gamepad looks amazing, can't wait to try it out.

Yeah. Even games like Battlefield that you need an activation code for, I wait until they're $30-$40

The WiiU's gamepad looks awkward. The joysticks are all goofed up.

I've never owned a Nintendo console, I don't like how they try so hard to appeal to casual gamers.

I have an N64, had a Wii.
I always have hated how they refuse to use a normal gamepad, though.

But I want them to work on a way to get on a server and play, say, battlefield 3 and I'm on my Xbox and can play on the same team or against Harry on his PC and zaz on his PS3.
