Basically, this encapsulates Einstein's relativity
This is why an 8 hour shift at work feels like a whole day, but a day off from work is gone in 8 hours.

Get ready, Myles, you're next.
Well, that was an interesting twist.
Last night, we went to see Vlatko Stefanovski, an ex-Yugoslavian rock/jazz/ethno fusion guitarist, live in Chicago. There's a restaurant adjacent to the arena where we ate, and we could see him and his flute player doing soundcheck through the windows. Anyway, soundcheck ended and one of my mom's colleagues from college joined us. A few minutes into our conversation, Vlatko and his flute player walked into the restaurant and sat at the table next to us. Unbelievable. An absolute legend musician from former Yugoslavia was sitting a few feet from us. We were throwing around the idea to just go talk to him for a little bit, and that's what we eventually did. My dad showed him my patch jacket which has a patch from his old band, and he liked it. We also took a few pictures with him. The concert wasn't that great mainly because of the sound adjustment and the acoustics of the arena, but what happened before is what I'll remember for a long time. One more celebrity meeting in the books!

When zaz is posting in the Creed subforum, you know stuff has gone down.
For all of the hope that it brings...

I mean if we can't discuss these kinds of topics in a cordial way in respect to each other or the people of discussion, best not to have those discussions at all, I'm afraid.

To his credit, Timo was being cordial.
Doesn't mean I won't ban him for fun though.

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread
Where I live in Canada, 86% is the lowest percentage needed to get an A grade so I was confused for a moment why your parents would feel that way and then I realized US has different grading percentages. But I still feel like parents who really get that upset about their childrens grades have got to take a chill pill and just be happy they're at least not failing school
Re: Basically, this encapsulates Einstein's relativity
My daughter and I were just discussing that this morning. She is starting a 12 hour shift this morning at the ED. 7 to 7… She said she wished She could enjoy work the way she loves Universal.
I told her to make work a treasure hunt. Look for what makes you feel good and find something that makes you laugh. Only then will those things get bigger in your perception of reality.
Things can be Horrifying and Beautiful simultaneously! Just like all those 10 haunted houses we toured. We were terrified and laughing at the same time!
Had a great time! Screamed so much I think I pulled something in my neck!
I love Einstein he was such a beautiful and strange person!
Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread
Don't worry too much about your parents. Think about the reasons for being at college, why you're doing maths and then assess where you think you might have fallen down if that 86.25 doesn't meet your own personal standard. Then you can decide how to make the requisite changes in routine and method to meet your own standard. Think about what you need your degree for and what score you'd need to make progress in that area. Live for yourself and not just for your parents.

Apparently they replaced Henry Cavill with Liam Hemsworth in The Witcher Netflix series starting Season 4. Welp guess I'll only be watching one more season

After the credits!
Halloween is Approaching…
The “Veil” is thin and my expectations are elevated! Last year was memorable and I had so much fun it could be a novel!
“To the ancient Celts, Samhain signified the last harvest and the beginning of a New Year. It is the space in time between summer and winter, the time of the harvest. Although we celebrate both Halloween and Samhain in the days between October and November, you may start to feel the veil thinning as early as September. After all, September is Virgo season, the sign of the Harvest Maiden.”

Sorry I showed you this, dear.
My wife read that to me as she was bumping around the internet and she commented that apparently the people who made The Witcher wanted a good looking Geralt. Now I know Henry is a pretty good looking dude so I was a bit surprised at that from her, and asked if she knew what Henry Cavill looked like. She said no. Hadn't she seen Superman? She said no.SHEAKENBAKEN wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 4:40 pm Apparently they replaced Henry Cavill with Liam Hemsworth in The Witcher Netflix series starting Season 4. I suggested she google him. There followed a few moments of silence and then the most surprised and contented and pleased little "Ohhh..." came from her.
I may not be getting any for a while.
