Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread
Ahhh, an update on the job search. I applied to Enterprise (the rent a car company) for a Staff Accountant position in Orange. Now I'm going to get a "phone screen" on Thursday. They said it will take 5-10 minutes. I wonder what they will ask me?

Oh exciting! They probably want to know what kind of phone you have and why your previous screen broke.

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread
Well, that was easier than I thought it would be. They asked me only these questions. I answered them loudly and clearly with the answers I know they want to hear. They stated they will get back to me next week whether or not I have a face-to-face interview.
Am I 18 years old or older
Do I have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
What is my level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
Am I available to work full-time, 40 hours/week Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
Do I have a valid California driver's license.
How many driving incidents or infractions do I have within the last three years.
Did I plead not guilty of any drug or alcohol related convictions on driving record (DUI/DWI) within the past 3 years.
Am I authorized to work in the United States and do I require work authorization sponsorship by the company for this position now or in the future.
Do I have any prior accounting-related work experience. (I stated no on that one as I am a recent graduate. Don't know if that hurts my chances or not, but I just can't say yes when I don't have it and a school program where I assisted low-income families with their tax returns last spring probably does not qualify).

Wow, what a rejection letter from a job application I did.
"Thank you for your interest in the Analyst, Financial position with The First American Family of Companies. We were very impressed with your skills and experience, however we have selected another candidate who we believe closely matches the job qualifications."
What's the point of saying impressed with skills/experience only to say, "we choose another guy?" It's ok to say I suck and make suggestions on improvement. I do hope I get that face-to-face interview at Enterprise though.

Re: Aaaaawkward
That's kinda like when a girl tell you you're the first one to make her cum and then dumps you for another guy.
Take the words of encouragement, even though you're not sure if they're being 100% honest. You're doing great, Angy (that's 100% honest).

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I just recently went back to school and got an Associates in Computer Science and have been trying to leave my dead end job for something higher paying and in my field. I've received basically a carbon copy of that same rejection letter.anguyen92 wrote:Wow, what a rejection letter from a job application I did.

I sort of miss the Pre Internet era. Back then, more ppl went to concerts. Also, I guess general nostoglia (memories) plays a role as well. The "bubble" effect was in effect as well, where any song could come on the radio and it would sound amazing, because back then most ppl didnt have access to tons of free music at their fingertips. The bubble effect affects many things in life

I'm usually not in the offtopic area of this forum. But now that the first week of Trump's legislative period ended I gotta ask the Trump voters of this forum: Are you really happy with the stuff that he did so far? Pissing off Mexico, announcements of weekly "immigrant crime" lists, banning entries of Muslims, and cutting the budget of science and cultural associations. Dunno if I get any answers, but since this is the only forum with American people that I regularly visit, I just wanted leave this here.
