Can anyone help me with my tattoo idea?

I would like to have a tattoo with some lyrics "Darker days seem to be what will always live in me
But still I run"

I'm from Finland so my English is not perfect. I would like to no what this "still I run" means in that song? Is it something like no matter how hard my life is (darker days), I still go on and will survive?
Or is "running" meaning escaping?

I think you're right, but in a grander sense I think it conveys hope. One Day Remains is a very introspective album which remains the reason it will always be the closest to my heart. Other albums from these guys do this as well with songs like Words Darker than Their Wings but I think it has the highest frequency on ODR.

While we constantly see almost a dichotomy in the songs (two sides of a thought process) where the verses have sorrow, pain, things that are upsetting, they more often than not end with a chorus that tries to assert a positive mental attitude going forward. I think the lyrics are extremely well balanced from this aspect but basically draw a conclusion of hope for what is to come or how one will approach it. Some examples below.

So while "darker days seem to be what will always live in me", I feel the "still I run" part means that even though he knows that's an integral part of who he is, he does his best to actively squash it and hope for more, because without that hope, you're giving up.

Seriously. I was always a fan of all those songs, but you singling out those lyrics just gave them much more meaning to me. Now I gotta go listen through ODR a couple times
