Learning German?

Post by Jaded Rescue »

So I'm trying to pick up learning German. I took a semester of it in college, but it's been a while so I started using the Duolingo app to get back into it. It's pretty fun and it's free if any of you are interested in trying it.

My question is, do any of you have any suggestions for good German TV shows or movies that would be easy to find with English subs? I want to try to immerse myself as much as possible and unfortunately I don't know any other German-speaking people to converse with. If anyone on here is bilingual, I'd also appreciate any words of advice or learning tips.

It's one of those "Days Of Our Lives" type of soaps. It's awful, but because Germany is one of our neighbouring countries, somehow it's on our TV as well, and people actually watch it.

Ha! Maybe I'll check it out. I'll get super invested and be so upset when I learn that "Hans' death was a set up" or something like that, haha.
