Best stand up comedians?
I've always liked Louis CK.
Some of the following I enjoy, others not really:
Dane Cook, Joan Rivers, Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle.

Huge fan of dry, emotionless, deadpan humor. Steven Wright and the late Mitch Hedburg are two of my favorites.
Re: Best stand up comedians?
Dane Cook is terrible imo.
Louis CK, George Carlin, Dave Chapelle, Bo Burnham (debatable whether he's a stand up comedian) are great.
Kevin Hart is very good and I like his schtick.
The most underrated guy is Anthony Jesilnek, imo. He'll be at or near the top by 2020. His act is absolutely histerical and I highly recommend it for those who haven't heard of him. He's incredibly offensive, but that's sort of the direction comedy has been leaning towards.

Re: Best stand up comedians?
I like Louis CK because idk, i guess I just relate to stuff he says. I like his sense of being a "realist" as well.
On a different note, I'm a realist, but at the same time, I believe in stuff like God and prayer and some stuff that science can't prove. (I hope I'm not conflating the two meanings here).
Dane Cook made me laugh a couple of times, but I think he's kind of average.
I'll just throw out a list of other comedians I've seen/heard of:
-Jeff Dunham -I don't really care for him. I think it has to do with the fact that I find puppets to be
weird/creepy.
-Larry Cable Guy
-Sarah Silverman
-Amy Schumer -Honestly, I never found Silverman or Schumer THAT funny. Idk.
-Robin Williams -I did not find his stand up funny at all, for the most part. I think his ideas would've worked better as sketches or gag ideas, in like a show or something. I feel like his stand up was just making funny noises or impressions.
-Richard Pryor
-Bill Cosby
-Jerry Seinfeld -I didn't find Seinfeld that funny, but I dont think its totally fair to compare between different generations. I'm sure he was great for his time. I sometimes almost hate to write a comedian off just because their act isn't to my taste. (shrugs) One man's trash is another man's treasure...
-Bill Hicks
-Jim Carrey
-Adam Sandler
-Jeff Foxworthy
-Patton Oswalt

Steven Wright is my all-time favorite. I'm just giggling here thinking of some of his one liners.psycosquirrel789 wrote:Huge fan of dry, emotionless, deadpan humor. Steven Wright and the late Mitch Hedburg are two of my favorites.
Another photobucket casualty...

I saw Kevin Hart the other day at Wembley Arena.. Wasn't his best show ever.. Let Me Explain was by far his best tour..

But modern, I'd go Louis CK and maybe aziz ansari.

Check out Bill Burr if you like Louis CK.
For all of the hope that it brings...

Re: Best stand up comedians?
I actually got to see Kyle Kinane live last night who's one of my personal favorites. He had me in tears multiple times. I highly recommend him. He voices most all ads for Comedy Central and has been on Drunk History, Workaholics, and @midnight. He does a lot of self depreciating humor
He's got 3 albums out which are all on Spotify. I've listened to "Whiskey Icarus" a ton of times on road trips and it always seems to be a favorite among my friends

He's not funny. He looks like a hooligan on stage.cheesedip1 wrote:@AB23 What didn't you like about Dane Cook?

Well recently I watched some of Kevin Harts stuff and was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

I'm a big fan of one particular Comedy Central special that Chris D'Elia did. He had this story about deer hunting where he got really into the physical comedy and I cry with laughter every time. His bit on Germans being creepy also cracks me up.

How come AliceMudgarden has a bunch of KKK members as a signature?
@AB23, I looked up Anthony Jeselnick and recognized him from some roasts. That grandma's Bible joke is pretty awesome
