Alan Rickman passed away at 69 today

That man was born to play Severus Snape. David Bowie was kinda meh for me but this one really bums me out.

I'd wish people linked this man to something else than Snape (even though I like this role a lot too). Rickman has such an impressive body of work that it's almost insulting.
Age 69 seems to be rather unlucky this year for artists...
Classy person, awesome voice, great actor.. He'll be missed.

I loved him in the Harry Potter movies (sorry Rosen) and he seemed like a really friendly guy in real life. Gonna miss him and his awesome voice.

I was so sad to hear this. The man was amazing.
Why would it be (almost) insulting that he's best known as Snape? That was a good role and he was perfect in it.

I think the fact that he is remembered different generations as different characters speaks volumes to his acting ability and how big of an impact his death is on it. I personally only knew him as Snape but even that one role hurts me to see him go.
