Re: *puts wig on vader helmet*
I saw it today, it was pretty funny, can't believe they haven't done that before for Darth Vader or something along those lines

I hope it's canon because it's better than the prequels.

They've backed up the release of Episode 8 from May 2017 to December 2017. Heard rumors that the director is rewriting part of the script, and they pushed pre-production back about a month. I'd say that could factor in along with 1) Christmas sales doing so well for 7 and 2) having more distance after the release of Rogue One at the end of this year.

I'd guess the same. More Xmas time sales and more distance from the other movie.
Photobucket cash grab.

Re: The Star Wars Thread (Episode VII Spoilers Inside)
Dec was the original plan before it was moved to the summer right? Honestly, it makes the most sense IMO. LOTR used the December slot successfully for 6 years if I recall correctly (not sure about The Hobbit trilogy). Most people are able to take time off from work with their families, are in holiday spending mode, and it won't have to compete with nearly as many Blockbusters.
Plus, you have a point that 2 Star Wars films with 6 months separation might not do as well.

I hadn't heard about Avatar backing up. Tells me they don't want the competition haha. I'm still surprised that's the highest grossing movie of all time. I remember seeing it and not being overly impressed with the story. I think it rode off of the 3D craze at the time.
I've read some rumors online that the script is being re-written to focus more on Rey, Finn, and Poe. Apparently there are some new character additions, and they're tweaking the story to focus more on the new cast from 7.

I saw that too but...as opposed to who? lol Kinda doubt Leia or Chewie have much to do in the next one which pretty much just leaves Luke from the old cast with any worthwhile screen time. Don't even get me started on 3PO...
Anyone else notice that Luke's robot arm has no skin like it did in Empire strikes back? He started wearing a glove on it after it got hit on Jabba's sail barge but it seems to be a completely different hand now.

To truly capture the wonder of Avatar you have to see it in 3-D or IMAX 3-D or something like that. It was actually made for 3-D, unlike the new BS trend where theaters charge you an extra 3 dollars or so just to see some fake 3-D nonsense where all they are doing is overlapping one frame of the screen with the other.Andy92 wrote:I hadn't heard about Avatar backing up. What I'm saying is, Avatar was actually shot in 3-D. Many other movies weren't so they trick you where they overlap one frame of the movie over the other and then call it 3-D and raise the price. It's not even real 3-D then, so it's bullcrap.
Re: The Star Wars Thread (Episode VII Spoilers Inside)
@Fish As opposed to more new characters was what I had heard. I guess they had plans to bring in some new faces, but now they're thinking it's more important to focus on the three big new faces. Yoda was an Episode 5 addition, so maybe they're hoping for a new character to impact 8 in a similar way.
The thing with Avatar is that I can't really even remember the story. I agree about 3D being overrated with what they actually pass it off as now, but I remember seeing Avatar in 3D. And even though I was impressed with the visuals, I just can't remember what the movie was about this many years later lol. It's not something I go back and watch multiple times.

Avatar was dull crap, and the 3D failed to amaze either.
For all of the hope that it brings...

Re: The Star Wars Thread
Liked Rogue One but not quite as much as TFA. Vader's part was pretty perfect though.
For all of the hope that it brings...
Re: The Star Wars Thread
I don't know if I liked it more than TFA, but it blew the prequels out of the water. I thought it portrayed the war between the Rebels and the Empire really well.
