Famous movies you HAVEN'T seen.

Post by TenaciousBe »

For instance, in the last few weeks, I've just now finally started watching the original Star Wars movies for the first time. Never got what the hype was about, and felt like I knew everything about them from all the references in popular media over the course of the last 30 years (and Spaceballs!).

Never seen the Harry Potter movies, aside from the first one which a then-girlfriend made me watch back in 06. Have yet to sit down and watch the Godfather films, or Goodfellas. And while I adore The Breakfast Club, I've never watched Pretty in Pink.

How bout you? What's out there that you know you "should" see but just haven't gotten around to?

I already have a general "Movie Thread." Wouldn't this be better there? You are the admin so it's up to you, but I was just wondering.

A ton of gangster movies that get a ton of praise...

Godfather (I & II)
Goodfellas
Scarface

Others that come up on Google often...

The Shawshank Redemption
Blade Runner
Taxi Driver
Raging Bull

I don't watch many movies so here we go lol.

I haven't watched all the Star Wars moves in full either (caught bits and pieces of the original 3). Haven't seen any of the Harry Potter films, never watched Titanic lol. Scratch Indiana Jones too. I have all 3 Lord of the Rings movies but haven't gotten around to watching them yet. That's the series I wanna see first though. Might do that before the summer ends.

I saw that, but figured this was a specific enough topic that it could be interesting. In a thread of people talking about movies they have seen, it's kinda pointless to throw in "eh, haven't seen it." Makes you irrelevant to the thread, I thought.

Good call, LOTR movies are incredible. Took me a couple of viewings of each to really wrap my head around all the details, though. But I may just be an ignoramus. :lol

Took me 3 times to get Inception and I'm still not 100% sure on that one. :lol

I've seen all of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. That's probably my biggest series honestly. I just looked through the IMDB top 250 films of all time. I've seen 12 in their entirety. :lol

Matrix, I forgot about that one. I got dragged to see that in the theater, I promptly fell asleep. Never have gone back to try watching it again (or any of the sequels).

Haven't seen the original Star Wars trilogy in full either. Haven't watched any gangster movies like Godfather or Goodfellas or whatever, they don't appeal to me. Haven't seen Indiana Jones.

I used to be a big movie buff but I honestly haven't seen a single movie in the theatre in over a year and a half. So anything since then. Raiders of the Lost Arc, The Wrath of Khan, A Clockwork Orange, Any classic movie from before the mid-'70s (Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Gone With The Wind, etc.), Toy Story 3 (I've heard the ending is super sad so I don't think I can bear it)

Toy Story 3 is vastly overrated anyway. It's easily the worst of the trilogy. First is the best. Or maybe I just feel that way due to the nostalgia factor..

Oh I've never seen E.T either. Also, I like Titanic, which my friends always like to give me a good slagging about.

I'm sure you only like it because of the nudity, and because a lot of people die in the end.. :D

Just read the OP. I saw the first Harry Potter movie I think but none of the others. And the only John Hughes movie I've ever seen is Home Alone. Luckily.
