I'm kind of a sci-fi geek (not a trekkie, so it's a wonder I even tried this show) and thought I'd give B5 a chance because I had heard it has a 4 season story arc. Am I glad I did! I'm a qurter way through season 2 and absolutely love it.
Any other B5 fans on here?

I've been intending to get onto it when I have the time, don't know much about it though other than that it's good and sci-fi. What's the idea behind it?
For all of the hope that it brings...

Re: Babylon 5 (any fans)
It's about the alien races on a 5 mile wide space station floating in neutral territory in space. The Humans and Menbari hate each other. The Centauri and Narn hate each other. And the Vorlons don't care about anyone. They try and keep war from breaking out between races on this station.
Meanwhile the ancient Shadows rise up after a milinnial exile and attack everyone. That is the point I'm at right now. The first season is ok. It's the second season that it really picks up (not to mention the budget is quite a bit better).
The relationships between all of the characters is awesome. It's definately worth the watch. I'd almost want to start out in season 2, if I were to do it over again. But there IS some good stuff in season 1. Everyone tells me that if I'm liking season 2 (and I am) that I haven't seen anything yet. I can't wait as from this point on, pretty much every episode has a continuity to it as there is a 4 year story arc after season 1.

I liked it back in the day. It's been years and one of those shows that I wouldn't mind seeing rebooted as it had some really interesting concepts and ideas but the sets, costumes and effects are pretty dated now. I actually watched it on VHS.

I'm just starting season 3. Absolutely love the show. Amazing writing and acting, even if the graphics and effects are close to 20 years old.

Re: Babylon 5 (any fans)
I think Stargate SG-1 did a parody on B5....no wait, that was Farscape cuz of Ben and Claudia (<3).
I'd like to consider myself a pretty big sci-fi nerd but I think I missed my window on picking up those two shows. Now that I'm older, pretty much any show where it goes back to the status quo at the end of the episode bores me.
