The Movie Thread
Re: The Movie Thread
Warcraft was pretty good, I loved it
Re: The Movie Thread
Just saw The Secret Life of Pets last night, really enjoyed myself! May have borrowed a little too much from Toy Story, but that's totally fine with me considering it's my favorite kid's/animated movie ever. The voice acting and animation was very impressive, plenty of laughs, and another Kevin Hart show-stealing performance

Re: The Movie Thread
Just watched Southpaw for the first time... It was tugging on my heart strings at the end, gotta love Gyllenhaal.

Re: Margot Robbie - 10/10 for looks though
Suicide Squad. If you liked Batman vs. Superman, you'll like it, otherwise, it's cheesy, predictable, poorly written, has a bad script, CG sucked and was weird, and the role of the Joker was over-hyped (and annoying).

I knew it was gonna suck. Enough stupid superheroes/villains movies please.

It was SO bad.. I couldn't believe how poorly edited and paced it all was? Genuinely appalled that they didn't give a single line, scene, action, reaction breathe.
I had no idea if some scenes were present time or a flashback..
Harley Quinn was cool, I'm glad she was as physical as she was too.. I wasn't sure what to expect from her in combat scenes and she did well there.. BUT 75% of her lines were awfully directed and cheesy..
And don't even get me started on the 3 members of the cast that were COMPLETELY unneccessary
Re: The Movie Thread
It was bad. Not BvS bad but still, bad. Also a crap Joker and a wasted Batman.
Although I actually liked Will Smith in it, he was the only one where I believed he was a bad guy capable of doing good things.

For all of the hope that it brings...

Re: The Movie Thread
So hyped for the Dark Tower movie.
"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed."
And the man in black is Matthew McConaughey. HYPE.

Re: The Movie Thread
I'm excited, yet reserved. I like the two leads. But I just have a sinking feeling it will never live up to my expectation. I guess it's all up to Ka, eh Timo?

Re: The Movie Thread
I'm a bit reserved as well. Especially about the first book. I'm really interested how it's gonna translate on screen.

Re: Really just want to see an Oy running around.
I just reread the first two. Could be a challenge but looking forward to it.

Re: The Movie Thread
See, I feel like The Waste Lands will be the hardest adaptation. With Shardik and some of the creatures they see while riding the mono. I suppose they'll just cg that in though.
I'm glad there are a couple of other DT fans here though. We can all suffer together through the updates.

Good to meet you, Lotha.
Re: The Movie Thread
I've yet to see a single superhero movie from the Marvel/DC universes. Just don't get into it.

Re: The Movie Thread
I saw The Amazing Spiderman for the first time on TV last week. I was all like "look at me, looking at a superhero movie!"

Re: The Movie Thread
I only watched Iron Man, cause I like RDJ. And bits and pieces of Avengers here and there. I mean don't get me wrong, these are good summer blockbusters, a lot of special effects and action, but I just don't get the religious following of the comic fan masses. Those are only average movies at best.
Re: The Movie Thread
We watched Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates on the weekend. It was hilarious. Anna Kendrick is so adorable. It is really raw though - not remotely safe for work or kids or anyone with an ounce of prude. If you're in the mood for something like Superbad, you'll love it.
Another photobucket casualty...
