5 Favorite Bass Players
Since there is a top ten for the gee-tar, I figured I'd start at least a top five for those who slap tha bass.
1. Dave Ellefson (Megadeth)
2. Cliff Burton (Metallica)
3. Brian Marshall (AB)
4. Frank Bello (Anthrax)
5. Rick Savage (Def Leppard)

Re: 5 Favorite Bass Players
As cliched as it sounds on an AB board, Brian Marshall is definitely up there for me.

Yeah, that list is probably as close as it gets for me, in terms of bass players. I would peg Geddy as #1 and Steve Harris as #2. Though I would probably replace Michael Anthony with Nikki Sixx.gbruin wrote:Steve Harris

1. Justin Chancellor (Tool)
2. Mike Starr/ Mike Inez(Alice in chains and most underrated bass players ever)
3. Roger Waters
4. Brian Marshall(Creed days only, and again, one of the most underrated bass players ever.)
5. Phil Lynott
Others:
Billy Sheehan
Lemmy Kilmister
Geddy Lee
Jason Newsted
Duff Mckagan
Stu Ham
I prefer groove oriented bass players in general and do not really care for how technically fast or advanced a bassy can be. The bass lines that Brian Marshall had on early Creed albums are epic and very sadly not recognised by the masses.
