There are a handful of Trig questions on that test. Had you taken Algebra 2, Thrav? Seemed like a lot of the test was Algebra type questions, but I can't really remember now. I tried to forget about that test after it was over haha.

The SAT and ACT are very different.

SAT is more about applying old information in new ways, hence the tricky algebra. ACT is more of a checklist of acquired knowledge and concepts. ACT is easier if you're a good high school student.

Doesn't the SAT have a section of "this is to that as that is to this" kind of questions on it too?

Yes. Not as much for the math component. The vocab and reading sections are riddled with them.

But I don't think these tests are as useful as they are regarded. Honestly, the professor is the best indicator of your success in a course.

I agree there's too much weight put into these tests in our educational system here. I always thought high school GPA should play a bigger role in college scholarships than one or two exams. The types of classes you take in high school should play a factor as well imo.

Junior atm. It's actually not that bad anymore. Suffered the first 2 years from poor placement because I didn't try on the EXPLORE at all. Now I'm getting in to Honors and A.P. because outside of this forum I am somewhat intellegent. The kids are so much better in that level.

How badly does the ACT affect you college?

I agree standardized tests are given too much weight, but it's a necessary evil. It just hard to compare GPAs from different high schools.
