1. Steve Perry
2. Myles Kennedy
3. John Mayer (deal with it)
4. Michael Jackson
5. Phil Collins
6. Brandon Flowers
7. Adam Levine
8. Johnny Cash
9. Eddie Vedder
10. Jeff Buckley

1-3 are really solid for me. The rest were hard to order.

What I really love about Perry was that he came in to a band who's focus was metal and rock and basically helped create the best power ballads ever. He changed music forever. His soul can not only be heard on the records, but if you watch his live performances you can see he put everything he had into every performance.

There's a reason why Journey sold out stadiums. Before Perry, Journey was pretty much unheard of. Everyone wanted to see the best singer of all time! Those concertgoers in the 80's and 90's were extremely lucky.

Speaking of some classic singers, I always thought Brad Delp had an amazing voice. Boston's self titled record is one of my favorites.

6. James LaBrie (Dream Theater)

Not heavily rock orientated but damn good vocalists nonetheless.

Good call, Andy. I love that album, too. I saw Boston 2 or 3 years ago, and they had 2 guys singing lead after Brad's death. One was the guy from Stryper who was great. The other was a random dude who won a contest whose voice was unfortunately giving out by the time the band got to CO. Brad will be missed.

It's really hard to be in a bad mood when 'More Than A Feeling' comes on the radio.

Rough order, a mix of talent and just personal preference:
1. Chris Cornell (esp. Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, and Euphoria Morning album)
2. Myles Kennedy
3. Adam Lambert
4. Jeff Buckley
5. Brandon Boyd (Incubus)
6. Chris Corner (IAMX, Sneaker Pimps)
7. Robert Plant

The rest is a mix of Todd Kerns (growing on me very fast), Johnny Cash, Peter Gabriel, Peter Murphy, Brian Molko (Placebo), Michael Stipe (R.E.M.), Andrew Stockdale (Wolfmother), Sully Erna (Godsmack), Layne Staley (Alice in Chains), oops forgot to add Ian Astbury (The Cult) and I'm sure others.

Gonna look through these lists and see who I missed (their forums go nuts debating exact placement of people, better to admit personal preference is part of it in my opinion).

+1 excellent voice that is recognizable anywhere.

Like that one too - not overly impressive but helped to define one of the greatest rock bands of current era

Definitely can't put them in any order but I narrowed it down to 10..

Myles Kennedy
Ian Thornley (Big Wreck, Thornley)
Shaun Morgan (Seether)
Brent Smith (Shinedown)
Cameron Heacock (American Head Charge)
J. Loren Wince (Hurt)
Clint Lowery (Hello Demons Meet Skeletons, Call Me No One)
Brett Hestla (Dark New Day)
Ed Sloan (Crossfade)
John Mayer

I could have an honorable mentions a mile long but I'll just give a short few I really wanted to make my list
Jeff Buckley, Raine Maida (Our Lady Peace), Steven Tyler, Mike Patton (Faith No More), Dave Grohl, Mark Tremonti, Joey Culver (Atomship, Papercut Massacre), Brian Welch (Love and Death), Caleb Followill (Kings of Leon), Eddie Vedder, Layne Staley, Aaron Lewis, Walt Lafty (Silvertide)... and I better stop there. Soooo many singers that I admire

I can't name ten singers, but Aaron Lewis should be on everyones list. If he isn't, you just haven't heard him enough..

he can sing anything he wants, and it sounds perfect.

Also, IMO, Stapp in his heyday was the best at what he did at that time. (the 90's into 00's) People can say pearl jam pearl jam pearl jam, but Stapp was the best at the grungey voice.

I probably can't reach 10 singers, but we'll see how this goes

1) Chris Cornell - Such a versatile voice
2) Eddie Vedder - His range isn't strong, and his voice has seen better days, but he conveys such emotion with his voice
3) Myles Kennedy
4) Layne Staley
5) David Coverdale - This guy is like 60 years old and his voice is still incredible
6) Steven Tyler
7) Jeff Buckley
