I kinda get why the 4th/last season deteriorated so quickly, but don't know why they couldn't have given the characters, especially John, better endings, or why the BCR needed to be introduced (purely from a plot standpoint, please don't read into this anymore than that!) Is the book any better?gbruin wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 2:21 pmYup. I felt the same. Really enjoyed S1 (the opening credits scene is so freaking haunting and discouraging!) but it went downhill once they ran past the end of the book. They also never really adequately explained the multiverse angle, and you can't just put physics in a corner like that.zazthespaz wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 2:13 am Just finished The Man in the High Castle on Prime. Started out great and slowly deteriorated so I am now 0 for 2 for “good media finished in 2021.”
Bad movie rec: 365 Days.
You have no idea how happy it makes me to see you've watched this and are rewatching it. Now I can say, "It's ok Mom, my doctor friend watches this." Summer got me a shirt with an ostrich on it that says "Allegedly" and I got her a pitter patter baseball t. I think my favorite scene is the opener where the boys are playing catch and talking about Dan's sexual adventures when things take an awkward turn.gbruin wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 2:30 pm I just binge watched Letterkenny and I've already started rewatching it - in part because there is so much witty and quick hitting dialog that you miss some the first time and in part because it's freaking hilarious and I love the characters. Best thing I've watched in years. Go to Hulu and watch it now. Pitter patter.
Edit: Also, been watching Arrested Development. I'm sorry for ignoring anyone who's told me to watch the show for so long. It's freaking hilarious! And not in the way a lot of sitcoms nowadays are where some dipshit sets up a punchline for another dipshit, but where the humor plays out over several scenes or the length of the episode. I love seeing the little nuances at the start of the episode turn into side splitting jokes at the end of it. Surprised my parents like it too given my humor is a little more out there than theirs is, but they ask for me to turn it on too!
