Seeing Dream Theater tonight for the first time. Rocking my WTS hoodie and Fret 12 baseball tee. I don’t know half of the songs they’re playing but it’s undeniable they’re great musicians. One of the first “solos” I learned on guitar was from Metropolis Pt II: Scenes From A Memory - Scene 2: I. Overture 1928 and they played it almost right off the bat. Kind of a rewarding sight to see guitar-wise, especially since it’ll be 20 years since I learned to play guitar this summer.

No idea, but what I do know is that it makes me young.

Cool! You also got to see the first performance of A Rite Of Passage in 15 years.

An unfairly maligned song that. Hope it was a good gig.

I played my first show in five months last night. It was truly amazing. Here is a clip from it; others are also on my Facebook page.

Volbeat just announced a United States tour with Halestorm. That is obviously a dream lineup, but there is one problem. The show that they are playing in my area is at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Illinois. I really did not like that venue when I went to see Breaking Benjamin and Alice In Chains there in 2022, especially because the seats had me feeling disconnected from the music. This might be a hard choice.

I wondered how you would react to the tour announcement! Shame about the seats at the venue. I know exactly what you mean after seeing Alter Bridge at the casino a few years ago. It was nice to see/hear the guys but I also felt disconnected. Any VIP packages where you can get up front?

I am not sure if there are any, and even if there are, I am not sure if we would want to pay for them. I want to invite 5 or 6 of my friends along with me.

I went to my hometown music awards ceremony tonight. It is the same ceremony that I played Watch Over You at two years ago. The closing band tonight played Higher, and it was awesome.
