Also been listening to a lot of Jinjer lately. Never really gave them a chance besides Pisces a few years back and checking out their album Wallflower once after it came out. But I'm loving Tatiana's cleans and gutturals after giving them a proper chance. Instrumentation is also killer.

This band is cool the first 5 times you listen to them, then it gets a bit too tedious for me. Pisces and I Speak Astronomy are the two expections where the songwriting is actually interesting I would say but if you dig down their back catalogue there is a lot of the same - Tatiana's gutturals and chaotic, proggy riffing all over the place without any particular sense or purpose, the music lacks any sense of direction in my book

Indeed. Out of the bands that I checked out last night, Flat Black was the only one that stuck with me as something that I probably would like to listen to more of. I have already heard A Bit Of Lightning, It's Your Lack Of Respect, and It's OK To Be Angry.

Out of all of these, I only particularly liked Saint Asonia. I actually listened to a lot of their stuff tonight. That is a sure add to my playlists.

Been listening to the Lovebites discography the last few days. Japanese Power Metal. Insanely talented group of musicians. Everyone in the band plays at super speed 90% of the time which might lead to a lot of the songs sounding similar but Im not that picky about it. Miyako and Midori (the guitarists) and their guitar solos are the main draw to the band for me.

unsolicited and likely unwelcome opinion...
I really really really like this song, but...
I would absolutely be crazy gaga in love with this song if this were Alter Bridge. Those chill verses, amazing bridge, and melodic choruses are not anywhere too metal to be an Alter Bridge song. Put 2006-2010 MK vocals on this and it would be the best AB song since anything from Fortress. It feeds my opinion that all the various side projects have watered down what AB could have been by now.

But, it's MT's gig and he (and MK and Flip and Brian) should absolutely do things the way he wants and not what this rando says. And I really really really do like this song.
