You know, I've had them off and on for a while now. And I know what I need to do to kick 'em - I've posted in the Fitness thread many times about doing DDPYoga on and off over the years. I never feel better than when I'm consistently hitting those workouts, but then life comes along and has a way of making you too busy, or too tired, or too mentally drained, or too whatever to bring yourself to roll out the mat and just do it for 30-40 minutes. School will be starting up in a couple weeks here for my two girls, maybe having that routine will help me get back on it! Or really any kind of physical activity, but the DDPY has always been my favorite as I don't have to fight the weather or devote time to traveling to a place or what have you.
I feel positively spritely at 37 then! But, yeah. Injuries started to change after 35. Instead of saying "well, that's going to hurt for a bit", now I say "well, that's never going to work properly ever again".

Right! It was eye opening for me when I started working as a merchandiser/stocker for Pepsi in local grocery stores almost two years ago between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I could hardly walk by the end of the day - my back hurt so bad and I had shooting pains in my wrists and arms - carpal tunnel? What was super discouraging was that I was in the best shape that I've been in since 2012. It made me realize that there are physical things I just can't do anymore - like when I was 18-25. :/

Sometimes complex songs are better, but not always.

It's been awhile by Staind is better than the song the last hero by AB.

That's like comparing apples and oranges.

If I want to listen to a shorter more grungy and groovy song I'd go for It's Been Awhile.

If I want to be taken on a journey, listen to some sick soloing and riffing and something more proggy I'd go for The Last Hero.

I mean Torn by Natalie Imbugulia or whoever from the 90s, that's a simple song but I think it's great.

The Last Hero as a song is just okay.

Now if we want to talk about songs I think are pretty good, I would definitely put Cry of Achilles or Fortress in that category.

Not to be that guy, but Natalie's version is a cover.

Tell Micky I said hi :D

I just went to a wedding on the 10th and 11th cuz It was a 2 day event, one day was a Hindu themed ceremony (the bride and her side of the family) and the other was a Filipino Christian ceremony (The groom and his side of the family) And I was part of the wedding party. Lots of fun! Indian and filipino open buffet and an open bar :D But I think they watered down the alcohol cuz I barely felt anything after a few :lol

A song doesn't need to have a hook or be catchy. But yes the song needs to be good somehow. And I personally like it when songs have a strong chorus. Or at least most of the time anyways. Again, the vocal melody is half the song. If the vocal melody sucks that really hurts the song, for me. Or at least most of the time anyways.

I've heard a lot of songs where the verse is pretty good but the chorus really drags down the song. = (

Just got back from Micky’s wedding. One of the groomsmen got delayed at the airport for 2 hours and really put a damper on the entire thing but otherwise it was fun!

Well, I was right -- with school started back up, I've been back on my shit and getting my yoga mat out most mornings, in the couple hours I have between getting home from work and having to get girls up for school. It's the perfect time, and I think getting a good stretch on is a great way to wind down after work and sort of grease the wheels to not get so sore from the workin' man hours. I need to find my way to doing it more on the weekends now, but I'm 3 weeks into getting at least 3 or 4 days each week. It's a start! And yep, I feel much better physically - just have to work on other areas of weight loss and get some of these extra pounds gone!

Hey everyone - the board's hosting fees are due again. Alex (ABW1987) has been kind enough to pay for a majority of it the past few years along with a few other mods. Was hoping we might be able to take some of the weight off of Alex this year and get some contributions from board members. Not required, any little bit helps, give what you feel! Alex has a PayPal account for TABN set up under thealterbridgenation@gmail.com, if you'd like to donate, please send a PayPal payment there. If you don't have PayPal and would like to use another method, send me a PM and we'll work something out. Thanks!

Edit: Total is $287
