Been a long time since I've played this in full. Let's see, with all the kinds of bands and music I've been listening to in the last few years, how this holds up.

Daughtry's Leave This Town album.

Edit: Now, I'm listening to the b-sides of the album. I already knew and liked "What We Have Become" and "On the Inside", but I'm really digging Traffic Light and One More Chance. I just wished they stopped using that sudden ending that's been a staple of these Daughtry songs.

The new Bring Me the Horizon album, Gravity.

The album is actually by Bullet for My Valentine, but still...couple of standout tracks to me, but nothing fantastic.

To make an edit on this: the album isn’t bad...it’s just not what I wish this band would release. I want heavier, but it’s a decent enough album.

Mike Shinoda's Post-Traumatic album. The 18th album released in 2018 that I have listened to.

A couple of big things happened to him within the last year or so that led to this album. I hope he put a lot of passion into this one and make this count.

Not the most instrumentally inspired work he has ever done, but lyrically the record is pretty damn good.

Owl City - If My Heart Was a House

It's a beautiful song. It sounds like a song you would dance to someone you love. I wish I had that feeling......

Well, this should bolster my perceived value of the $40.00 ticket I bought for this show. Here's a video of Lindsey Stirling playing Shatter Me on the first night of the Evanescence and Lindsey Stirling tour. The vocal parts, which was sang by Lzzy Hale in the studio version, will be sung by Amy Lee.

Fudge man. It's funny how things work out. I was introduced to the music of Lindsey Stirling because she got Lzzy Hale to sing Shatter Me and then, I like her albums enough and rated her recent album, Brave Enough, pretty highly. I wasn't even going to considered going to the Evanescence show in Irvine until I hear Lindsey Stirling is in it and then I waited for the Groupon deal to come up because I'm not paying $65.00 for a ticket for an act that I do not enjoy as highly as Halestorm and Breaking Benjamin. If this is going to be a regular thing during that tour, now I'm really excited for the show in Irvine.

That band had the most bizarre story of why they went on hiatus lol.

Whalen and the Willows. This is a local band from Austin, MN, just north of where I live, and I'm proud to call them friends. The kind of music they make isn't really the kind of stuff I listen to a lot (folky Americana type stuff, sort of like what Myles did on his solo album) but man, their songs really scratch me right where I itch.

--Newest two Alice in chain songs sound good.

--Seasons album by Sevendust sounded good all around.

--The latest album by Foreigner sound pretty good (2009).

--Latest Shinedown album was alright. Had some songs I liked. Did not care for the 2 bonus tracks.

Tremonti - Unable To See

Still might be the best Tremonti song for me. It has a way of being slightly melancholy in the first half of the song, but turning it around to an uplifting anthem, makes ya feel good man.

Woweee, finally a new album I want to listen to this month.

Halestorm's Vicious album. The 19th album released in 2018 that I have listened to. Ok, look, we all know that Halestorm's lyrics are not really on the thought/emotional provoking side of things like AB lyrics, but even Lzzy Hale manage to hit gold sometimes. The first three songs from the album, they've released. I did not like the first or the third one (Black Vultures, I liked though), but let's see if they can deliver a solid album for their fourth album. Regardless of how this studio album fares, those songs will be monsters to hear live, because I know, seeing them live personally, they just have that magic touch to make it work live. I'm still hoping they can deliver a solid album like their first one though. Here's to it.

Daughtry's Cage to Rattle album. The 20th album released in 2018 that I have listened to.

New Daughtry album? Sure, why not. Only 10 songs and 38 minutes though. That's not really the best sign if it has been five years since the last album.

Edit: I mean it's not an unlistenable album. It's basically the stuff I typically hear on KROQ. That stated, the hard rock edge that Daughtry had in the first few albums is totally gone. Maybe it could be for the best for them given the changing times and their fading star power, but I'm not too certain.
