Chicago - Riviera Theater

Post by jailman »

Awesome show. I was pumped for this show for the last month and it delivered everything I imagined.
Ranks as high as any of I've seen, and they've all been incredible.
We got 19 songs plus duel guitar solos. That's more like it. Only thing missing was Find the Real.
Just an awesome show and the crowd adored them. EVeryone in the balcony was standing for the first few songs and the last few songs. And in between probably half the balcony was standing. That is no small feat in that venue.

5 songs from the new record. They all sounded great live. Last Hero was the first song where some people sat down, or went to take a piss, but it turned out to be epic in the end and I really think they want to play that because of the message in the song.
Crows On a Wire was awesome live and so was Writing on the Wall. Waters Rising was ok but would rather hear Lover if theyre gonna play a Tremonti vocal song.
Slip to the Void was also awesome and a nice surprise. They played it here on the Fortress tour too.

Setlist:

Writing on the Wall
Come to Life
Addicted to Pain
Ghosts of Days Gone By
Cry of Achilles
Last Hero
Ties That Bind
My Champion
Waters Rising
Wonderful Life
Watch Over You
Crows on a Wire
Isolation
Slip to The Void
Blackbird
Metalingus
Open Your Eyes
Show Me a Leader
guitar solos
Rise Today

Also, some guy was outside after the show selling Creed shirts for $6.

I'm jealous you got to hear slip to the void! Curious what you mean by you'd rather hear Lover as a mark vocal song?

on Fortress there are 2 songs that Mark sings: Lover and Waters Rising.

I prefer Lover

Yeah that's why I was wondering what he meant... I don't even think Mark sings any backup harmonies on Lover..

Mark singing Lover!??!?! ROTF!! Ok............

Sorry but Mark could not sing that song. Not even sure he does backing vocals on the record version.

Of course Myles sings most of it, but isnt that Mark in the verses?

Yeah. Myles has a great lower register that he doesn't use enough.
