Noticed that too. Hope that doesn't scare them from playing it again.
Thanks Timo!

Oh god, that's brilliant! Myles is really channeling out the classic spirit of Led Zeppelin at the end of the song!WkdSelina wrote:

No one was singing in the chorus if I remember correctly. Maybe some lines here and there.Ubik wrote:Did you happen to hear any "Fortress coming down"s? Did Mark sing them or did Myles do them quickly?

Damn myles looked like he enjoyed himself a lot. He messed up the "holdin on" part but he saved it somewhat. In the outro it reminded me of the mayfield four live videos we have for some reason. Just Myles rockin out and throwin in an unnecessary high noteWkdSelina wrote:

Dang, why didn't he do that high note in the studio? Fortress was severely lacking some Myles high notes and I thought he could've just wailed at the end of Lover. Seems like he really wanted to there, then remembered he had to play the outro lead. What a perfect live performance. Love that song

Aha thanks, yeah it was only soundcheck after all, just been wondering what they'll do for that part.Isak wrote:No one was singing in the chorus if I remember correctly. Maybe some lines here and there.

The real purpose of soundcheck is just to play through songs at full volume so the people in the booth can get the levels right. The only stuff that needs to be done to the vocals is volume so that can come later. However, drums, guitars, and bass will vary from venue to venue so that's why they don't really sing much in soundcheck. Plus they're saving their voices for the real performance - or at least Myles is hahaUbik wrote:Aha thanks, yeah it was only soundcheck after all, just been wondering what they'll do for that part.Isak wrote:No one was singing in the chorus if I remember correctly. Man, the ending of Lover was flawless. Unbelievably good. I had goose-bumps the whole time. When we got our stuff signed, both me and my friend asked if they were going to play Lover and they were quite doubtful about it. Myles just pointed at his throat and Mark pointed at Myles and said it was up to him so I'm very glad they played it. One of my favourites off of Fortress.

Glad you and your husband had such a great time, Suvi! The outro for Lover was phenomenal, Myles was really into it. Here's hoping they keep playing it!
EDIT: You as well, Isak. =)

True true, I didn't expect them to sing anything but it was nice hearing a couple of lines of Fortress!youknowverywell wrote:The real purpose of soundcheck is just to play through songs at full volume so the people in the booth can get the levels right. Wouldn't really blame it on the crowd. Lover is a good song but its not a song that you jump up and down to. I'm not sure how well it will translate live.AHart96 wrote:too bad the crowd sucked ass...that performance was brilliant
Re: Fryshuset, Sweden | Oct 29th 2013
I agree about the not jumping up and down part, but I thought it would be a great sing-along songCthree922012 wrote:Wouldn't really blame it on the crowd. that was great!! i'm not sold on the intro really, feels shaky to me a little bit, but it was great other than that to me. Myles' voice sounds like he's got a sore throat at the "trigger's warm" bit. could just be the recording though cause he wails on some of the other notes. doubt he'd do that if he had a sore throat.

i love his voice sounding like that. I thought it was on purpose. It sounds raspy, almost like a growl. I thought he was doing it to add to the emotion of that one part
Re: Fryshuset, Sweden | Oct 29th 2013
could have been on purpose. i'm just glad they played it.
what's left? fortress, all ends well, and peace is broken? am i forgetting anything?
