Since it gives Myles a chance to rest his voice a bit, I hope that's enough reason for them to keep it in the set. And I hope that in doing so, they aren't skipping song, but actually extending the set list by one songRyan wrote:I'm glad they're keeping Waters Rising in there too.

You've got to give Myles credit for going all out during this song. It sounds like it really stretches the limits of his vocal capabilities, but he manages to pull it off. I imagine they will probably skip this one whenever Myles is sick or otherwise having an off night.Ryan wrote:
at the 2 that's rights...but they're not like the usual ones.
I love the pick scrape leading into the first verse, and the bridge harmonics leading into the second.
I was glad to see it was pretty well-received by the crowd as well.

Yeah, there's usually a gap 'tween 'em, it's weird he said 'em two times in a row... And he always fucks up the first pre-chorusRyan wrote:

Killer performance, though, I loved it!
Cool to see Waters Rising is getting better and better with each performance. Will wrote:

Wow, I don't remember the last time BNS and OYE sounded that good! I'm so happy they've slowed things down and it's definitely affected their live performances, which have been awesome thus far. Will wrote:

Well, Lzzy chose really bad outfits yesterday - pants were too tight and the 'dress' she wore during 'Watch Over You' was rather awful (and way too short).RoelSmoel wrote:Crowd was a bit dead though.. Had 2 guys behind me screaming "Fading like Decay" the whole time.. No problem.. For once.. And they kept headbanging with their long hair, not very comfortable when you're standing in front of them haha.
But yeah.. Dead crowd.. When Halestorm was playing I could have a piss and come back, just to the place where I've been, front row.
Lzzy also had pants, that were so tight, she had a camel toe.. But ehm.. I guess that isn't right to this forum..
Crowd was a bit dead during Halestorm performance and then got better. I could really feel everyone got involved around Before Tomorrow Comes.
Btw my flag was clean, so it wasn't me ;-)
Anyway, GREAT show. Myles was absolutely incredible. He sang many notes he usually cheats a bit, even though he has two more shows to sing in the next two days. Mark was also very confident (and loud) singing back vocals - I loved that.
And yes - Metalingus in the right tempo. Who would have thought...
Btw there's this guy who records every gig AB plays in Berlin, in great quality (bless you, whoever you are).
He started uploading so check the show yourself. Our boys are on fire!

That was great. Even though I've been looking at Lzzy the whole time

There was a girl next to me, the whole show screaming like she was at a Justin Beaver or Wrong Direction concert.. Got a bit annoying after one hour..
Security were dicks too.

He got the Calm the Fire lyric wrong again!
For all of the hope that it brings...

Wow, killer performances! They sounded bloody awesome on tunes they usually speed up... The likes of White Knuckles, Come To Life and Ghost Of Days Gone By, it was nice to see Brian interacting with the crowd.

Myles doesn't hold the note in Ghost anymore =/
Re: Alter Bridge in Berlin | 10/27/13
Sooo... it's time for a little review! I didn't make photos or videos with my smartphone since both would've had a crappy quality but luckily there are others who did, shouldn't be a problem thus.
The most important thing first - it was amazing! Don't know if it was the greatest Alter Bridge concert I've been to, but if not, it's coming close. Halestorm did a great job, didn't expect anything less since they're a great band and Lzzy absolutely kicked ass. She's got such a great voice and they saved my absolute favourite - I Miss The Misery - until last!
Alter Bridge were awesome. I stood right in front of Myles and he smiled the entire time, he seemed like he had a lot of fun and was really happy - don't know if I've ever seen him on stage with so much energy, it was inspiring! As usual, he messed up the lyrics at least two times (during Ghost of Days Gone By and Metalingus, he had to laugh after the latter) but I hope he'll keep on with that forever, it's just funny! He also forgot to sing the "Don't let me drown" part on the second pre-chorus and apologetically smiled at Mark afterwards, I loved it!
Their decision to slow down the songs has been a good one, without any doubt. Myles sounded great, though I couldn't hear him that loud (always the same problem with small venues...) and the songs were as energetic as always.
I got goosebumps during the intro of Cry of Achilles - don't know how that happened, but it sounded so amazing and I guess I wanted to hear that song live so desperately... didn't disappoint me, of course - the new songs absolutely kicked ass. Calm the Fire was AWESOME! It's an absolute beast live, the riff just rocks your socks off. I also liked the crowd pretty much, they cheered a lot, especially after Calm the Fire and Waters Rising, but pretty much every song was well-received. Watch Over You with Lzzy was outstanding - she really pushed that already awesome song to an even higher level, was one of the greatest and most beautiful duets I've ever listened to!
Unfortunately, they didn't play Bleed It Dry - but I didn't really care at all, 'cause the show was so amazing and it was so much fun and so great to finally see them again that it doesn't come down to one Fortress song more or less.
We met Arejay from Halestorm and the whole Alter Bridge band after the concert, though we had to wait quite a long time. Got photos with everyone of them, told Mark that he did a great job on Waters Rising and Myles that I loved how much fun he had on stage. He confirmed that he had, but he looked REALLY tired, of course. I also told him that the Calm the Fire intro was amazing, he seemed to appreciate that. Afterwards, we asked Flip if they'd ever play Words live - he said that he's tried to convince the rest of the band to play it for the last three years, but it seems like Myles is the one who's hesitating to finally do it, probably because the final part is so hard to sing. He promised to try to boss him around about that topic even harder and he also confirmed that they'll make another tour in Germany in 2014 - GREAT news!
All in all - great night, I enjoyed every second of it though it was really energy-sapping. Can't wait for their next concert!
