Re: Rush
This news shook me a little bit. Even though I was never a Rush fanatic per se, Neil's drumming always stood out to me, and it's always a bit of a shock when the genre loses one of its legends. RIP

Re: Dave Grohl loves With Arms Wide Open
Omg I totally forgot about Mark snapping the neck off of his guitar in the "My Sacrifice" video -- classic!!
The original spoof may have been in jest... kinda like how Adam Sandler used to spoof Axl Rose all the time but I think he's really a GNR fan.

Re: Alter Bridge 'Walk the Sky' spring US tour 2020
That is interesting that they didn't play the current single. And you might be onto something about venue restrictions on set time since last night's set list does seem a bit abbreviated... basically their usual "template" lineup stripped of any slots they usually use to mix things up.

Re: Walk The Sky Reaction Thread
What’s the one song that everyone can’t stop listening to from this album, or gets the most plays? For me, it’s the title track. Same for me. I just love how the verse is so subdued and forlorn, giving way to that nasty harmonic right before the chorus, almost like someone changing the channel over...

Re: Why these broken video screens?
I think it's a pretty cool effect and most of the visuals they chose work well, for example the swelling waves during "Waters Rising". Some of the graphics even seem tailored for the setup, like the stacked TVs and the pillars of lights they use on a couple songs. Adding the second row of ...

Re: AB's Billboard Boxscore Results
Wow, good for them. That's actually incredible... sure they didn't "sell out" either time (a bit of an arbitrary concept since they are still blacking out some of the upper seating sections) but they increased their attendance and basically *doubled* their revenue in three years. Pretty am...

Disturbed are headlining this year's MMRBQ in Philly (annual festival hosted by our local rock station). Looking forward to it!

Re: Walk the Sky Europe 2019 Tour w/ Shinedown and the Raven Age
Reflecting on this tour and looking ahead to the upcoming US run, I do hope they start mixing up their set lists a bit more. Looking at their sets from the European run, they opened with WYR>Isolation>CTL>PNM>GODGB at almost every show except the first two, where GODGB was preceded by either WK or C...

Lol that did leave some rather out-of-context posts in place . I'm happy to move those as well if you like.

Agreed! Hoping for a proper East Coast run later in the year. I'd also love for them to really cover Canada as Anguyen referenced they had expressed interest in doing. They should get back to South America too, with its passionate base of rock fans.

The Struts
Any Struts fans in here? My wife and I first saw them a couple years ago at the MMRBQ festival hosted by Philadelphia rock station WMMR each summer. They had an early slot but won us (and most of the crowd, I suspect) over with their engaging and dynamic performance. Not long after we saw them at th...

Re: What are you listening to right now?
I just listened to the first two Shinedown albums, inspired by the discussion in the AB fall 2019 EU tour thread. Great records!
Now I'm back listening to the Struts after seeing them in Philly a couple nights ago.

Re: Walk the Sky Europe 2019 Tour w/ Shinedown, Sevendust (UK), and the Raven Age (non-UK)
Interesting. Their 3rd album, Sound of Madness, to Shinedown fans is the equivalent of Blackbird to AB fans. They're my two fav bands and I place Sound of Madness, top to bottom, on par with Blackbird. IMO, hands down the top two modern hard rock albums. Again...interesting. Us And Them is widely r...
