Re: The Official Art of Anarchy Thread

They've reunited with a new singer and bassist, with a third album due next year. Interestingly enough their new singer, Jeff Scott Soto, has a pretty rich discography. He's sang for Yngwie Malmsteen's solo band, Sons of Apollo with Bumblefoot and Mike Portnoy and he even sang for a band called Huma...

Re: Mark about a Creed reunion

I have no idea what's up with sales lately but I could see Napalm trying whatever. I'm not even sure how to base chart success anymore. Literally, Stapp, Myles and Mark's most recent solo records charted super low on the Billboard 200. Even Alter Bridge charted lower with Pawns and Kings but I imagi...

Re: Summer of 99 Tour

I think the only thing that disappointed me about the cruise is the missed opportunity for a lineup more similar to the Creed days. Don't get me wrong, all of them are late 90s early 2000s bands but it would have been cool to have one off reunions of The Tea Party, Another Animal, Blisskrieg (OG Ta...

Re: Mark about a Creed reunion

Interesting. I wasn't sure about the dates for the veteran written song. I know Worthy was a patriotic song he played around a year or so ago so I'm not sure if he's talking about that or if this is an entirely new song altogether

Re: Summer of 99 Tour

I doubt anyone wants AB to end for Creed. But AB needs a hiatus more than ever: they seem burnt out creatively, and Tremonti is not the biggest band in the world, so I don't understand what's stopping Mark from giving Creed 18 to 24 months. It would allow him to write/record a great album and tour ...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Don't overthink it. Odds are Creed is going to be doing something beyond the cruise next year. More likely they just don't want to announce something so as not to dethrone the money the cruise needs to make, or to outshine any press Stapp's new solo record needs. I'll admit, Mark being adamant about...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

The drums were electronic on Higher Power. So if they feel mechanical its because Dango actually didn't even play on it. Scott Stevens or Marti Fredericksen(?) likely did the drums in post. You mean they were programmed? What does it mean they were done in post? That's exactly what I meant. I was r...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Lol I love Signs. Sincerely. I see the hype vocals as kind of a baptist church type thing like Jesus was a Rockstar or Dancing with the Devil. Weathered is probably the most memed on of their albums but Stapp's voice peaked there. He goes really hard on so many of those songs

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Apparently the initial lyrics came from an idea Scott Stevens had that he wanted to share with Stapp. That may be why its a bit redundant if the lyrics were cowritten with Stevens. I agree about the cruise. If Mark wants a new Tremonti album out next year then it may be a conflict of interest. I gue...

I think they're gonna do something that 2012 record. I feel like they might even put it out but not tour it. They've referenced it a lot

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Stapp just confirmed that the cruise is a one of performance and Creed doesn't have any plans for afterwards. Considering he probably wants to tour his solo album and Mark wants to do Tremonti VI in January it might be awhile before Creed does anything beyond the cruise. They must have been paid a T...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

I LOVE IT. Such an intense energy for Stapp and very different from what he's done in both Creed and solo. It seems like he really wants to compete with those Sirius Octane bands and its working. I've never been that into this style of hard rock but his voice and melodies keep me invested. I can't w...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

New single is called Higher Power. Really interesting direction for Stapp based on the snippets! It sounds very very modern. More in line with bands like Escape the Fate, I Prevail and A Day to Remember as far as blending hard rock with those electronic elements. I'm glad he still wants to make heav...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

If that teaser is any indication, he's going for a downtuned hard rock style. Which is not what Creed fans want to hear from him. I'm sometimes wondering why he's doing going back to the sound of songs like What's This Life For, Torn or My Own Prison, which made him stand out back in the day. Excep...

Re: Summer of 99 Tour

Its not Creed (or its very unlikely). He said at his most recent solo show that he has new music on the way and he's mentioned several times throughout the year that he wants a new album out in fall.

My favorite song is I'm Alright. I feel the same way about this album as I did the debut. Its just good rock music and nothing more

Re: Mark Tremonti Sings Frank Sinatra

How cool! I'm excited. I've needed a new Christmas album since I only ever play the Scott Weiland one every year. Seth McFarlane from Family Guy apparently made an amazing Christmas record some years back
