Re: Who thinks they are writing a new album right now?
They've had a full album worth of ideas for a long time now to be fair, if I'm not mistaken.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread
It's hard to hit a good solo career when you don't master at least some 3-4 instruments, he barely plays a guitar. Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, David Gilmour, ... uhmmmmm... Mark Tremonti? But I kinda get your point. You should be able to pla...

Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER
That's a bit confusing to be honest, looks like Yiannis contributed a bit more to What I Deserve versus Higher Power.

I wasn't a Brexit supporter anyway but I thought that at least they could limit the damage if they got a decent trade deal. This is just pathetic. The fact that the British government doesn't care just highlights how on another planet they really are. I have mixed feelings about Brexit. I thought t...

Re: What grinds your gears?
The import/export process for the UK and EU. I had to drive a van to a trade show in Amsterdam, Holland from the UK and the process was beyond ridiculous. For a 2-day trade show. I spent maybe a full working day on the admin and customs processes; 4-8 hours on paperwork (hard to even calculate with...

Tesseract's new album War of Being. It's pretty banging although not really innovative in any shape or form. There are serious hints of their first album on it and it's a good thing.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
Yeah, it's a bit meandering, there is a video of him saying that he sent out the initial idea to many collaborators during covid and then received many entries, it's pretty hard to write a cohesive composition based on such premise. I listened to this song with my dad and he said that it sounds like...

Re: Summer of 99 Tour
It's not that simple. You need everybody to have a free window of time, managers, promoters, dates and demand.anguyen92 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 11:26 am Can't they just go ahead and do the simple thing and book the amphitheater tour with either 3 Doors Down or Daughtry?

New Steven Wilson. This sounds like one of those tunes that people can interpretive dance to. Yep. No further thoughts. Exactly. Thankfully he's releasing a 'mostly instrumental 11 minute hybrid of progressive rock, spiritual jazz and electronica' next week. I think this song is a step in the right...

Re: Modern production sound
I do all of my recordings in REAPER and I use its stock plugins. For the vocals I usually add quite a lot of delay that bounces from the left to right channel and I apply just enough reverb so that the 'dryness' disappears. In order to make them stand out you need a good volume balance between all t...

Re: Modern production sound
I would absolutely double track them if that's not much of a hustle. You can't just copy them over because you get phasing effect.

Re: Modern production sound
There are shitloads of tutorials on YouTube but you should start with double tracking guitars and panning them hard left and right which gives you a solid stereo effect. I guess there should be quite a lot of compression on the drums and the vocals.

To be fair, in many countries in mainland Europe there is no distinction between Europe and the UK. In English-speaking countries the distinction is present though.

You mean they were programmed? What does it mean they were done in post?Devil Inside You wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 4:17 am The drums were electronic on Higher Power. So if they feel mechanical its because Dango actually didn't even play on it. Scott Stevens or Marti Fredericksen(?) likely did the drums in post.
