Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Do Americans learn to drive in manual or an automatic cars? Just wondering, because an automatic exam seems so easy to me :D The first few cars I've driven were all manuals, but my last two cars (company leases) were automatics and I honestly have no desire to ever drive manual again. Looks like I d...

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread

That’s better than what Spotify recommends for “if you like Alter Bridge” lol Well, to be fair I first asked for some bands and it recommended Shinedown, Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin and some others in that direction, and I that's where I was like "no no..." and set that predicate of w...

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread

I used ChatGPT to generate a playlist for me of 13 songs for fans of Alter Bridge :D The predicate was that I was more into their complex sound and used Cry of Achilles as an example. "The Pot" - Tool "The Heaviest Matter of the Universe" - Gojira "Blackest Eyes" - Porc...

Aww, this was the first record they released an album after I became a fan, and I saw them three times live during that cycle. Great memories :bow

Re: YouTube channel in profile?

It navigates to '.../user/{whatever you type in that input field}', which is the old-fashioned way of navigating, because it should be going to '/channel/...'. In 'Settings' > Advanced settings' you can find your userId, which technically can be used, but in my case it started with a number so that ...

Re: then again, he's living as high as Americans can get...

You could grill Southern U.S. style: indoors. Does that need a gas grill? Our ovens often have a 'grill' but that's like an exposed filament heater in the roof of the oven. Most people here use a charcoal BBQ to grill otherwise. As someone living about as far south as Americans can, I have no idea ...

Re: Ranking 'The Epics'

That was a pretty interesting video. That's the perfect amount of overanalysing :D I don't really agree with all the songs all the songs he put in the 'compound epic' category. Show Me A Leader doesn't belong in the same category as Fable of the Silent Son in my opinion. Sure, it's got a different s...

Re: Pawns & Kings (Alter Bridge - VII)

My issue with the Stay chorus is quite the opposite. I don't think it's memorable at all. The hook is basically one long note with a harmony over it, which is their go-to formula for many new songs. It doesn't sound bad, and it's great that you guys like that sound (truly is, that's no sarcasm), but...

Re: 11-04-22 - Partille Arena, Partille, Sweden

I don't really see what's funny about that. They gave up on Show Me a Sign too early, and I think Sin After Sin sounds pretty good, aside from Myles's lack of energy, but that's apparent on every song. The Other Side is also a great live song. One of the better TLH live songs. They used to play 80% ...

Re: 11-01-22 - Alsterdorfer Sporthalle, Hamburg, Germany

Watch Over You with the full band was special because they hadn't done that since the beginning of the Blackbird tours, if I remember correctly. Both songs have their strengths in both versions. I haven't heard In Loving Memory in person yet, so either version would be fine by me. Watch Over You I'v...

Re: Pawns & Kings Europe Tour 2022 with Halestorm and Mammoth WVH

I thought Sin After Sin sounded pretty good aside from the lack of passion from Myles. Missed Mark's backings in the outro and don't really get the octave drop in the chorus though.

Re: 11-01-2022 - Alsterdorfer Sporthalle, Hamburg, Germany

The lack of energy has been there since AB III. This definitely could've used more energy, especially for an opener, but for a live debut I don't think it was that bad. Hopefully they'll get more comfortable with it. I loved the atmospheric intro, didn't miss the Myles backing vocals over the main r...

Re: 11-01-2022 - Alsterdorfer Sporthalle, Hamburg, Germany

Only one song from Walk The Sky and one song from TLH.

ODR: 3
Blackbird: 3
ABIII: 3
Fortress: 3
TLH: 1
WTS: 1
P&K: 4

Mostly glad to see Pawns & Kings in there. Can't wait to hear a recording of that!
