Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread

1. I'd just like to say that "Breathe" being U.S. Best Buy-only is kind of a slap in the face to everybody who's been there since the beginning. It was also probably the ONE FOOLPROOF WAY OF ENCOURAGING LESS PIRACY. 2. HOLY SHIT "BREATHE" IS BEING RELEASED. You know that they re...

Re: Alter Bridge Summer Tour '16

According to setlist.fm , no: Come to Life Farther Than the Sun Ties That Bind Isolation Metalingus Blackbird Rise Today Pretty good set given their time slot, IMO. Same set that I saw in Scranton, except they traded ATP for Blackbird. Yep, that's the one. Don't get me wrong, it was a great set. Th...

Re: Alter Bridge Summer Tour '16

That seven-song set I just heard, while awesome, was some major bullshit. They need to come back to Toronto to headline.

Re: The Official CHEVELLE Thread

I'm getting used to the album. Coming around pretty hard on it, actually. It's a pretty stark difference from their previous seven albums, and easily their heaviest to date. Came as a bit of a shock, but now that my expectations for what I thought a Chevelle album should sound like have faded, I'm f...

Re: The Official CHEVELLE Thread

Not sure how I feel about the new album yet, to be honest. It's shockingly unmeldoic for a band this known for hooks, almost abrasively so. It's, like, 90% dirty vocals, which is cool, but it's also less rhythmically-oriented than their usual heavy fare. Trying to digest it.

I agree. One of their stronger efforts in quite some time.

Most consistent alt-rock band of the 21st century.

Re: RADIOHEAD

Have to agree with all the hyperbole going on around here. It really is that good. And I've changed my mind about "Burn the Witch", only because it's so unrepresentative of the album as a whole that it's a pleasant change of pace.

Re: DUST - The Second Part

Apple Music recommended Dust on Twitter. Dunno if this is a big thing or not, but promo is promo I guess. I did find it extremely strange that Apple Music would promote an album that's not available on their service. I wonder if it had high sales numbers on the iTunes side of things so they're push...

Re: RADIOHEAD

I'm a little disappointed, only insofar as this style is my least favourite version of Radiohead. That being said: very curious to see how it plays in context.

There's zero chance that the verses and main riff in "The Cage" don't date back to the ODR days. That's Mark doing his best Myles impression right there.

Re: The Official BLACK STONE CHERRY Thread

This album is a big step back in the right back for these guys, for sure. It doesn't quite have the magic of FOLKLORE, but that's just a qualitative thing. For the first time in a long time, they actually sound like themselves. Reallllllly wish that "War" cover wasn't on there, though. Tha...

Re: DUST - The Second Part

I'd be VERY curious to see the monetary breakdown between Cauterize and Dust if the latter is being kept off streaming services. I expect they won't move many more albums just because it's not available anywhere but physically -- the diehards are buying the thing either way, and the casual fans who ...
