Re: AB IV Writing/Recording Sessions

A song with just drums and guitar can sound much heavier than a completed song. When my band was recording our first single we were pretty worried that it would be too heavy after we had recorded the drums and guitar. When we added bass it gave it some contrast and life, and then when the vocals cam...

Re: Funny live moments thread

I don't have video for this unfortunately but at the gig at the Chicago House of Blues on May 2nd, 2011 Myles really messed up his little bridge intro riff in Ties That Bind and laughed through the end of the song. Then he tried to recreate it afterwards. Here's the audio from the USB thingy :peace ...

Last Album?

Kind of getting the feeling that this Alter Bridge album might be their last one. Myles is 43 which means that in three years when their next album would be scheduled to come around (ODR 2004, BB 2007, ABIII 2010, ABIV 2013, ABV 2016), he’d be 46-47 and on tour. He’s been touring almost nonstop with...

Yeah, if you enter the contest you can listen to Mark's original demo from 1987

Re: 1/16/13

So young Mark was visited by an Observer from Fringe and was told some day all this could be his if he keeps working on that riff? That's what I got out of that video

Re: My First EP

Wow, thanks for the kind words, you guys! That means a lot to me. I'm thankful that I get to develop as a songwriter in an age where online marketing is so easy for someone to do on their own. Hey this stuff is great! The production value beats mine to hell, haha. I think you have a great identity f...

Re: Even after all of these months...

Proof is my favorite song off the album and one of my favorite songs ever. Can't get over that clean bridge that leads into the solo, E-Rock holding "Tiiiiiiiime," and then the heavy outro... man, so awesome

My First EP

Hey guys! I've been working on this EP for a couple weeks and I just finished it a couple days ago so I wanted to share it with you. I recorded it on my MacBook Pro using Garageband and a Blue Yeti USB microphone. Myles Kennedy and Jeff Buckley are probably the two biggest influences on my songwriti...

Record Company

So with Roadrunner going down the tubes who are the guys gonna sign with? I think this would be too big of a release for Fret12, wouldn't it? I would like to see Myles' stuff go through Fret12 but I don't know if Alter Bridge would work

Chicago - September 28th

Didn't know what forum to put this in so if it's in the wrong place I apologize Does anyone know if there are going to be individual tickets available for the Chicago date? Cuz right now all that they have are three VIP packages at $200, $500, and $1,900. I love Myles and Slash a lot but not enough ...

Something I Noticed

The album begins with a slow fade in of a note and ends with a slow fade out of the same note. I don't know if this was intentional but I noticed immediately and thought it was awesome

Re: Sweet Child of Mine Bofest Tab?

Yep! I did a cover of it actually. Tuned a half step down and then drop Db, he plays the D chord (which would be a C# now) and thumbs the low Db string for the bass line. Then he switches to a C9 (I think) shape (0-3-2-0-0-3) and thumbs Ab string for the bass line. Then the G chord (5-0-0-0-3-0) and...

Re: Tremonti playing at the Social TONIGHT!

Hey guys! First post, just thought I'd throw in my first impressions into this melting pot. I think, all things considered, Mark is doing a great job as a singer. It's very difficult to switch from a backup singer to a lead singer. It's two very different vocal styles. It's going to take some time f...
