Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers - Track 16

The Damage Done kicks so much fucking ass. It still boggles my mind that that song was a B-side and left off the album, it's probably in my top 5 AB songs ever. The verse riff is just soul crushingly awesome.

I'm sorry for cursing.

Re: ABIII vs. One Day Remains

Between the two, overall, ODR by a mile. Much of that may be due to the nostalgia, but I feel even 8 years later, ODR is a flawless album from open to close. ABIII managed to be the first AB album that kind of bored me at times - I dig each song individually, but when listening to the album as a who...

Re: Pop Evil

Nice! I dig these guys. 100 in a 55 is one of my favorite songs to play on acoustic - and if I'm not mistaken, the guitarist on the far right in these videos is playing the same Dean acoustic that I have (though mine is blue). I may have to investigate how I play it now, too, cause I've never used a...

Re: After a month...

I honestly kind of lost interest in this album quickly too, but I think a lot of that had to do with all the clips and previews of tracks that were out there. I hate when so much of an album is already out there like that, makes the full release so anti-climactic, like it's just filling in the gaps ...

Re: Tremonti @ Club INT (played new song) EDIT: posted song

You know, standing in line in Chicago, I knew I was hearing some songs I didn't recognize during soundcheck, and I was pretty sure it wasn't MTM soundchecking as I saw Tim continue to walk back and forth from the bus while those songs were playing. Very cool!

Yeah, the Twins looked to be absent from the amp lineup. I keep forgetting there's not really anything "clean" on this record.

Mark's live pedal setup

So my friend Elyse snapped this picture at the Chicago show Sunday. I was kind of surprised to find out Mark's pedal setup is so small on this tour. His Wah, obviously, and is that a UniVibe on the left? What's he got in the middle? Definitely not his Phaser. https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-a...

Re: Clear Coating a Guitar

I did the spray-on method for my Tremonti SE a few years back, to protect the AB signatures. Sadly, doing this killed some of the glossiness of the finish, and gave it almost more of a matte finish than gloss. But, I do play the bejeezus out of that guitar (or did when I had a band together... grr) ...

NO SOUP FOR YOU.

Unless you come to Chicago again? I'll be there all weekend with Elyse, and Ashlee and Cory are coming in Sunday. We'll make you soup!

Re: TABN Site Renewal Fundraiser and $50 Giveaway

Yeah, given the troubles we had with the DC3 giveaway, we've been a little reluctant to get too head over heels in contests. A few summers ago, we received a good handful of copies of Live From Amsterdam from RockPit (before it went under), and used those to hold a bunch of different contests - some...

VENUE CHANGE for Sunday night's show in Chicago!

For those coming to the Tremonti show in Chicago this coming Sunday, the show has been moved to Bottom Lounge, at 1375 W. Lake St. Apparently Prince is playing at HOB that night, and we got bumped. Game.... blouses. https://www.facebook.com/events/147221525416496/ http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0...

Re: Let's get started: TABN.com Community Album Volume 2

So, how's things coming along for this? I've still got at least a solo acoustic track to throw in the mix - wouldn't mind collaborating with someone if they're looking for vocals, as well. I could do some simple rhythm guitar but my electric playing isn't nearly up to par with many of you here.

Re: Your acoustic repertoire

So I had a thought the other day. One of my favorite songs back in my high school days was Jewel's "You Were Meant For Me." Fun song, plays great on an acoustic (especially if you can get the finger picking down - I'm just learning it by strumming chords in the rhythm of the original picki...

Re: Advice

I've always wondered this, why we play the way we do. Why do right-handed people do all their intricate fretting with their non-dominant hand, and vice versa? To me, being left-handed would seem like an advantage when trying to learn to play a right-handed guitar, but I can understand how it may not...

I'm pretty loyal to the Ernie Balls on my electrics, so I'm kinda excited about trying these out at some point. Right now I haven't been playing as much electric and just haven't gotten around to getting a set yet.

Here's a question. When looking up chords on a tab site, sometimes you come across two different ones with a slash between, like G/B or whatever. How do those work?

Re: Anybody here play/collect vinyl?

I had found a record player on craigslist about a year ago, got it, and discovered the speed lever was really loose and nothing really played at the right speed - not horribly bad, but just enough to notice and grate on my nerves. I picked up a handful of records online and at Goodwill, but nothing ...
