Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

On another note, does anyone see Take the Crown as a sports anthem in some forms over the course of a year? I think it may do a better job at it than My Champion. It's like "no hard feelings, but we winning this thing like we always do." WWE has missed a golden opportunity to use Take The...

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread

I think it's quite weird that Blackbird is pretty much the only modern rock song in this list. The rest of the ranking consists of old school rock and metal. What other modern rock songs would you like to put? Guitar solos have pretty much been done by now. There are still people doing interesting ...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

After only one listen of Take the Crown, I think the chorus does let it down slightly. I like the direction they're going in terms of music but we're still waiting for it to be pulled off 100%, imo. I'd still rank Pay No Mind ahead of it, but I could see that changing after a few more listens. As mu...

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

Yea slash has an exclusive deal but before myles used to have a prs even on stage since its just the couple chords . Before, yeah, but Gibson may not have been happy that he was playing their competitors guitars (especially as Myles is a big fan of the SC 245, which is the closest they had to a Les...

^ I don't follow. I don't see how potassium works better from a sound point of view. And I only stated "rhyme" because you stated "rhyme." If you're stating you don't like that they rhymed it period, then okay. If you're stating you don't like that the rhyme they chose was "...

Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album

I think a lot of people like Ghost. I sure do. Cool bridge as well. My Champion is fine in every way but corny/generic lyrics from an AB-based standard. I think my dislike for that song would be cut in half if they didn't try and rhyme "Again" with "Champion". It grinds my gears...

I imagine Slash has some deal with Gibson. Frank Sidoris only plays Gibsons at those shows, right?

Re: 15th anniversary of One Day Remains

I find it very interesting that Edge made an appearance at Summerslam last night, so Metalingus was played again at a WWE show on the week the album turned 15 years old. I know the two aren't connected at all, but it was a cool little celebration.

I'm going to take this opportunity to point out that Island of Fools and Words Darker than Their Wings are both less than 6 minutes.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Anything can be about politics if you do enough mental gymnastics or go looking for it. Some people are just looking for a reason to kick up a fuss. Remember Ironic by Alanis Morissette? "A free ride when you're already late"? clearly about the welfare system and how it makes people lazy a...

Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album

By the way, I want to address something: Listening to the RAH version of Lover again, I realized that its arrangement has a lot to do with my dislike for the song... because the RAH version of it does it so much justice, that the concert's value would diminish greatly if that song wasn't on it. So ...

Re: How Many AB Shows Have You Attended?

Fortress Tour - Wembley Arena, London
TLH Tour - O2 Arena, London
W/ Parallax Orchestra - Royal Albert Hall, London

Not many, but the ones I've been to were pretty big ones. I would have loved to have seen them before then, but I didn't really have any disposable income at the time.

Re: Wouldn't You Rather

Fozzy had a top five track with Judas and 30 million views on Youtube and they are still stuck playing in front of around 500-1000 people. In all fairness, they are opening for an Iron Maiden show in LA in a soccer field that will hold 20,000+ people so good on them for that. I can't believe that a...

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019

Considering they do it every night and pretty much all day including sound check and fit up, you can almost guarantee the sound guy mixing the show will be wearing earplugs, so you're actually more likely to get what he's trying to get across wearing them. Even a £20 set can give you decent clarity ...

Re: Live in Milan - Amazon UK Listing

I still don't really understand how nobody from the band listened to it before the trailer and a boat load of marketing went out for it, especially if the above logistical issues were known about, somebody must have known it was a compromise from day one.

Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album

Lover's one of the four untouchables on Fortress for me. And Coming Home is top 5 on Blackbird! This just goes to show that I'm glad no-one here (except Andy) is in charge of tracklists :D There’s a small Break Me Down fanclub around that I’m sure to tick off...lol That would be me! That said I thi...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

I will never understand why modern rock bands still make music videos like «the band is playing at the warehouse/in the basement». I get it that it's cheap, but how is it supposed to promote anything if it looks exactly like hundreds of other videos? Firstly they cost a bomb. Dropping $2mil on a vi...
